I appreciate the sentiment but I disagree with this portion. We are so much more than "sophisticated apes", we are sons and daughters of God, made in HIS image and given the keys to Heaven by the blood of Jesus Christ, perhaps Sean misses that point.

Actually, I’ve gained a great deal of respect for Sean over the past few years. He’s much more level-headed than one might expect. He’s also put out some pretty good music with his band: “Ghost Of A Saber-Toothed Tiger” (GOASTT)

The ideas of people like John Locke and Voltaire and Thomas Paine are what lead to the American Revolution which then inspired the French Revolution.

The American War for Independence had its share of violence. The French Revolution was wall to wall violence. The so-called Enlightenment thinkers didn't really renounce violence as a means to an end.
