Knock off the racist crap.
Grow up.
Probably ought to talk with posters who refer to and support referring to Cook as “colored”.
And then fell over themselves explaining that they were doing nothing that the NAACP has not done for over one hundred years.
To them and others who support referring to Cook in this way, it was apparently THE most important adjective to use in describing her. Even though the rules are explicit - “…NO racism…” in posts.
Not really. It just publicly memorializes how things are for some posters.
End the Fed now!
Excellent post.
Yes, I thought I might find information on her job performance here, not her race.
Crooked DEImocrat Just another one of many
My exchange regarding language was not an attempt to bury the lede. It was a set of cogent comments with citations to another, not you.
I made no "attempt to bury the lede" nor am a Leftist.
For my view, the accusation remains an accusation until referred for prosecution ( which it should be ). Moreover, President Trump atop the federal bureaucracy seems fully able to fire those he chooses to fire, among appointees. So as to the "lede," more is coming to be sure.
Lisa Cook alleges President Trump's authority as president does not extend to her "removal," and so litigation will be just around the corner. A Biden "appointee" and "advisor" during Obama's detestable terms, she is an "appointee." And in the moment, an "ex-appointee." With primary residences in two places, a contradiction in terms and in law. Like other Democrats. And SHE is focused on race issues, in her career. It's Democrats who really need to stir the race issues, after all.
Lastly, I personally would like to see the Fed audited closely and carefully, at the minimum.
LOL! I’d expect that from posters who defend calling black
Americans “colored”.
Woke ALL OVER her face.
DEI is racist against White people. Wouldn’t you agree?
I suspect Bush chose her because her neocon values aligned with his.
I liked her too at the time.
Of course I used to see Bush differently too.
The truth is, the Left manipulates language for specific reasons (they control the media and education, so those are the avenues by which they do it) so they change the rules on how language should be used to suit their needs.
They do it to keep their well-intentioned foes on edge, who don’t wish to be labeled as “racist”, “sexist”, or “homophobic”.
So, one must “keep up with the rules” instead of dealing with the issues at hand, in this case, an incompetent black Leftist female who got her job solely through Affirmative Action and other race-based, or other DEI hiring processes.
You cannot call a homosexual a “homosexual” now, lest you ruffle feathers and are called “homophobic”. You must refer to them as “gay”, a perfectly good and useful word used for centuries, that is unusable now due to the actions of the Left. (I even got the stink-eye from a person I used to work for when I asked him to hand me a “pair of dykes” which is a term not to be used when referring to “wire cutters”. “Homosexual” was a scientific word unoffensive, and absolutely descriptive of a condition or situation as a scientific word should be, but its use has been prohibited by the same people with signs on their lawns that have a key tenet of “Science is Real”, and are the same people who refuse to believe that XX or XY chromosomes signify anything of meaning.
You cannot call a transsexual a “tranny” or you will be labeled a “transphobic”.
You cannot call a black person a “negro” or “colored” because you will run afoul of the word police, even though that was the term used for centuries and as another poster pointed out, is THE key word in the acronym NAACP is...”colored”. They don’t change it because they don’t have to. They have an exception from the word police. Now you must refer to them as “blacks”. Oh, wait. You can’t use that. You have to use the term “African Americans” even if they are aren’t of African extraction. Damn. You can’t use the term “black” you must use the spelling “Black”. (Are white people “white” or “White”? Wait, black of any spelling was said to be racist and disrespectful. They went back to “African American”. Or is it now “People of Color”? And the use of the word “mulatto” is definitely out, as is the “N” word, which Blacks/blacks/negroes/African Americans/colored/People of Color have a dispensation to use freely and without reservation in any setting whatsoever they choose, while other people are prohibited from using that word, even in discussion as I am not free to use it here in this setting where we are discussing this very issue of language.
The point is, this isn’t happenstance. The Left hijacks both language and symbols to advance their cause, and they do it quite effectively, and they do it for a specific purpose.
This certainly doesn’t mean you have to go out of your way to be disrespectful. (As an example, I happen to preferentially use the term “black”to describe the appearance of a person of high melanin content in their skin because it was around the time where it was going in and out of language-control practice where I became aware of the insidious use language to control people, and that was where I landed.
If I were to speak face to face with a black person, a homosexual, or whatever and they said they didn’t appreciate the term, I might ask them politely which term they preferred and would use that if it were possible to remember to do so.
I actually agree with Jordan Peterson who got into hot water for refusing to use “personal pronouns” (which was a slander and false-he just would not use them by default as I will not) and he said that if one of his students specifically asked him to refer to them a certain way, he would. I assume he would if he could remember all of them.
In all of this, I would say that people need to have thicker skins, not necessarily lighter or darker ones.
Again, agreeing to use controlled language in every day use is conceding territory to the Leftist Thought and Word Police, where using it in specific situations out of politeness or consideration is not, IMO.
Yes. She is no conservative in any way, shape or form. If she voted for Obama because he was black (which is likely) she is racist. No way around that.
I would feel exactly the same if someone said they voted for a candidate because he or she was white. Exact same thing. Racist.
““colored” woman?
Good grief, go to Stormfront if you can’t control yourself.”
Good grief - did your frail sensibilities suffer damage?
