A poor vacuum could be dangerous. Xi took more control of the country than his predecessors.

I just did a search for Zhang Youxia. He’s 75, older than Xi.

Zhang Youxia is the vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC).
His faction has eliminated [ literally ] all of Xi Jinping’s main allies and supporters. To the extent that Xi is just the public face of the CCP and holds no power.
This is quite a story and it was detailed elsewhere some months ago. I no longer remember the links of where the story appeared - inquiring minds can search FR and the internet and it will likely turn up.

I just did a search for Zhang Youxia. He’s 75, older than Xi. Yeah but his main goal is not to become Chinese dictator but to get rid of Xi.

But Zhang can't rest easily until Xi is gone. Otherwise he puts himself at risk. This is why I think the showdown is coming in a matter of weeks. More specifically a week and THREE days from now.

That sounds nice, but aren't there other Chi-com leaders who want to keep the status quo, and would want to see another Xi installed?

Okay, thanks. I don't follow news that comes out of China. I know there's been articles about the downslide of China's economy, but those appear about as often as the articles reporting that Putin is dying.

Never confuse what YOU WISH with reality.
The Western press said the same thing about Putin many times in the past. Look where he is today...
