You get a rejected permit ... and you get a rejected permit ... and you get a rejected permit.
The permits should be approved by default so the homes can be rebuilt right away. There should not be that much in construction changes other then using more fireproof materials.
It was the city and state regulations that allowed brush to grow. In fact the city sued the utility that wanted to clear brush in the area for what the city said was a endangered plant... they also blocked residents as well.
The story went that a guy was hiking the area and noticed this plant, just happened to notice. Did I say just happen to notice? He was the ‘plant’ for the environmentalists.
That stopped the utility from clearing the brush along the power lines. The utlity had to pay the city millions.
In short that guy who no doubt worked for the democrats helped kill 27 people and burn thousands of homes.
I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF THE OLYMPICS GOES ELSEWHERE
WHO WILL BUY IT—_IF THEY CANNOT GET A BUILDING PERMIT???
THE “FIRE BREAKS” THAT ONCE WERE NORMAL???
THE ENVIROS STOPPED THEM:
BECAUSE THEY INTERFERED WITH MICE CROSSING THOSE OPEN AREAS
NOT KIDDING
People WILL get building permits.
IF they make the right campaign donations.
The government in states like California is like dealing with organized crime. You just need to know who to grease.
The biggest deterrent is probably the coastal commission.
That is made up of a lot of true believers. People that just want LESS houses. More open space. They may not be able to be motivated by money.
Unlike almost all politicians that can be bought.
However, there will be a lot of homeowners that will be forced to sell their land. Keep in mind that some of these home owners inherited this property from their parents who bought it for 100X less than its current value. That is the only reason they could afford to live there.
Unfortunately, those people most likely will be forced to sell. Unless, they can pay the real estate taxes for five years waiting to be able to rebuild.
The overpaid bureaucrats are really going to shine by demonstrating how red tape can strangle freedom and destroy lives. Your tax dollars at work!
