«Funny enough, the lowest drag coefficient number for Corvettes like that with the spoiler package is 0.29.”

The base C8 is .32. Aero packages add drag.

The 2020 C8 Corvette Stingray has a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.32 for the base model and 0.322 with the Z51 performance package. The Z51 package increases downforce, leading to a slightly higher drag coefficient. The C8’s drag coefficient is similar to other high-performance sports cars, but not as low as some of its predecessors.

This car is going to be a handful for the vast majority of drivers.

“No they don’t. “

Yes, they do.

The drag coefficient (Cd) for a C8 Corvette with the Z51 package is reported to be around 0.32 to 0.35, with the base C8 model potentially having a slightly lowerCd of 0.32 according to MidEngineCorvetteForum.com. The Z51 package, while improving downforce and cornering stability, also increases drag due to the added aerodynamic elements like the front splitter and rear spoiler.

Funny how you’re contradicting yourself. Never mind using Google.

And I was talking about the ZR1X specifically, the subject of this thread.

Opus?

“And I was talking about the ZR1X specifically, the subject of this thread.”

And you were wrong. the ZR1 has a higher coefficient than seen the Z51. No reason the ZR1X would be lower.

“Funny how you’re contradicting yourself. “

Funny how you don’t cite that.

Riiiight, where ya gonna use it, most of the people that by these are old men who. barely drive the speed limit, or morons who think they are Speed Racer and floor it, lose control and totally destroy it. Aside from some rural areas where can you use the speed they are capable of?

100% correct. Where we live AZ we have 60 yo white men driving CVs - with the roof down -- at 45 mph in 65 mph zones.

When I was 16 I had a 63’ Studebaker GranTurismo with the Avanti R1 drivetrain.
At the time I worked in a restaurant at Knott’s Berry farm and every night after work, about 12 AM, I and a friend would hop in the car and drive down to La Jolla near San Diego as fast as we could often hitting 130 mph. Back then the 5 Fwy was wide open at that time of night and never once saw any CHP.

Now even at that time of night there is plenty of traffic and cops.

Oomph is not batteries you want super capacitors.

https://allotrope.energy/page-pr-jun25.php

“As an example, a 1kg high-powered lithium-ion battery might be able to flash discharge at about 1kW, whereas a Lignavolt supercapacitor of the same size could deliver around 50kW.”

8kg worth of super caps is 400kw of instant electrons that’s well over 38000NM of torque at 100 rpm...not even top fuel drag tires can put that much torque to the ground.

Second law machines will always kick the crap out of thermal first law machines especially at low rpm where electromagnetics can have full torque at zero rpm the magnetic fields spin the rotor can be stationary and under full load. It’s just physics bro.

Back when I was an EV fan, about 15 years ago, I saw the super capacitor as the real answer. I realized eventually that there were a lot of technology hurdles that needed to be jumped before I’d ever take electrics seriously again.

But I will say this: Add a battery driven electric motor to an ICE and you can have some serious “off the line” horsepower.
