I doubt it is Wyoming. Sounds like a democrat influx problem.
I've been to Guam and the locals are genuinely friendly. They treat their tourists like guests to be pleased and welcomed back.
Hawaii? They treat their tourists like sheep to be shorn.
Never been to the Virgin Islands, but I've heard it is more like Guam.
Sunny beaches are nice. Sonzabitches? Not so much.
“”There is no requirement to visit Hawaii.””
Never been there. Never had a desire to go there. Somehow I survived.
Eat at home. There's no tax on groceries that are not pre-made.
never been to Hawaii, never wanted to go. Saw it in a few movies. Tora tora tora, that was enough for me.
I'm glad they made this news worthy, Hawaii is minnesota with palm trees when it comes to the type of people living there.
Its STEALING!!!!!
Let’s see how they like it when the shoe is on the other foot.
Correct!
Appears to violate the commerce clause of the Constitution
We need to return Hawaii to the natives and replace it with Alberta.
I went once to Oahu in the late ‘80s.
My wife has a sister there, so she has visited a few times. Other than family, no desire to go again.
The money will be distributed through grants. Local nonprofits and agencies will apply. The legislature will decide who gets what. That’s a lot of power. That’s a lot of money.
Hawaii is expensive enough as a tourist destination and these fees will certainly dissuade many tourists as there are other cheaper tropical places to visit. The revenue from the Green Tax will likely be squandered into climate change boondoggles and the pockets of politicians and their surrogates. I would bet very little of this money will go to preventing fires like those that devastated Maui.
Nope. Not even a thing. Not buying health insurance was the tax basis and the court said congress could tax nothing. They could simply say, “Gimme $100!”
We’re going to Hawaii this fall for the first and probably the last time now.
“the Polynesian natives live in poverty and are EXTREMELY unfriendly, downright hostile, actually ...”
Exactly. Had the “honor” of dealing with the locals over a few week assignment some years ago. Interestingly, the original Hawaii 50 series hinted at these actions then, cannot even imagine how much worse it has gotten.
Don’t come to da mainland wit dakine ideas! Hope the Japanese enjoy the new tax.

Only 0.75%? As if that won’t be increased on a regular basis!
They are a state. I don’t see how they can tax visitors from another state just for visiting.
