IIRC the Warren Commission and a later group of our betters in congress gave us two distinct answers, to better allow us to be confused and argumentative. The first said Oswald and no one else did it. The second said someone(s) did it but we don’t know who it was.

The person that rode with him to work in the morning testified to what he was wearing.
JFK was assassinated around 12:30 PM, which is the time of the photograph. Oswald was arrested before 1:51 PM and his clothes and manner of wearing them are the same as the photograph. As usual, to conclude that Oswald was involved, the most unlikely assumptions must be made. The simpler explanation is that he was arrested in the same clothes he wore to work. People were pressured to change their testimony, or it was changed without their consent to tell the story the government wanted told: a lone nut killed POTUS, not a conspiracy of powerful people in government. There is also the issue of the second Oswald, a look-alike, who likely was dressed differently.

“ My wife, a non gun person, upon visiting the 6th floor perch, blurted out that in no way did he kill Kennedy from there. An earlier shot, per her. Was the most common sense shot. Sooo, why the LATER shot?”
I’ve been on the 6th floor myself. I am a hunter and thought exactly the same thing. If it was me alone trying to make this shot I would have taken the infinitely easier one as the motorcade was coming directly toward the TSBD rather than waiting for it to round the corner leaving me with the much harder down and away shot. Heck you could take a couple from the front side and still have an opportunity for the down and away.
Crossing shots are always more difficult than straight on. You would even have a full view of him from the waist up. Easy peasy.
With that being the reality, there needs to be some reason to wait. I’m pretty sure that I know what that reason is.

Would you want to hunt anything with Carcano Mod. 91 6.5×52mm?

If you click on the photo you can enlarge it.
To me, it looks like the photo you posted has been manipulated. Enlarging your link shows dust on the scan. Both photos appear to have details whited out, or that comes from altering the negative, and one face is obscured while white lines obscure the left shoulder of the "door man". Numerous witnesses put Oswald on the first floor between 11:45 AM and 12:25 PM that day. Two witnesses, James Jarman and Harold Norman, put Oswald in the first floor break room eating his lunch between 12:20 to 12:25 PM. Two witnesses saw him in the "lunch room", which had a refrigerator, coffee pot and vending machines on the second floor around 12:15 PM. Presumably he was just buying a Coke for his lunch as he stated. Subsequent LE reports attempted to put Oswald on the second floor rather than following J. Edgar Hoover's initial report that Oswald was encountered by LE on the first floor near the door after the assassination. Taken in that context, and the photos of Oswald's clothes when he was arrested a short time later, the "door man" is Oswald.
Do note, that witnesses did report that the feds changed their testimony for the Warren Commission:
Arnold Louis Rowland Another witness, Caroline Walther, saw two gunman on the upper floors of the TSBD, but was ignored by the Warren Commission. This fits a pattern of altering evidence. Dr. Don Curtis, who treated JFK at Parkland Hospital recently testified to this. Citing Warren Commission transcripts is of little use to finding the truth of the matter, since its purpose was to fix blame on Oswald while ignoring, or changing, inconvenient truths.

Not my first choice by any means. That said, I do own a Russian Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54r that I would perhaps hunt with someday. I haven’t as of yet so there’s that…

Using a Carcano Mod. 91 6.5×52mm to assassinate POTUS is incredible.

United States House Select Committee on Assassinations determined that JFK “was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy" but it was “unable to identify the other gunman or the extent of the conspiracy.” It further concluded that the federal agencies conducted themselves with “varying degrees of competency” and the search for possible conspiracy was inadequate. In other words, the feds couldn't determine who executed their boss, the President of the United States.
