Some of the kibbutz rules seemed counter to the reality of the situation on the ground. IIUC, Kibbutzim tend to be equivalent to U.S. Democrats on many issues. Not too fond of personal liberties, but LOTS of RULES.

In New Jersey defensive display would be charged as the “crime” of brandishing. You’d be locked up while your assailant went free.
