David was older than the yuppie generation. I got to know him in the ‘80s.

In practice, socialism didn't work. But socialism could never have worked because it is based on false premises about human psychology and society, and gross ignorance of human economy....David Horowitz

I quote this to anyone I encounter backing progressive candidates. And I add the comment that someone working their behinds off to help support others sitting on theirs is a sucker.

RIP Mr. Horowitz...

Good quote and comment! I will miss him, but will also continue my support for the Freedom Center as long as they continue to fulfill their mission.

I remember stumbling on an issue of Heterodoxy magazine when i was working admissions at KU (of all places), back in the ‘90s.

Could I have done more? When I look at my life this way from the end, I can take satisfaction that I mostly gave it my all and did what I could.

This evaluation of himself lacks any humility. . .

I have to disagree with you there. The summary phrase that I bolded seems to me the definition of humility: "I mostly gave it my all" [as opposed to claiming to be a full-time '100 percenter.']

And he says, "[I] did what I could," admitting that what we actually can do has its limits. We must be thankful for having been granted the good fortune to have achieved anything significant. Which in my opinion, he certainly did. I remember when he appeared on the Internet. He and his partner (forgot that name. . .) were a hurricane of fresh air on an Internet infested with creepy-crawling Leftists. David and his bud changed everything by what they wrote, and by posting the writing of countless other conservatives we never knew existed--many of whom are well-known today.

You are so right!

The world IS a better place! We should thank Almighty God for for allowing David to be among us.

RIP!

Radical Son, it still sits on my bookshelf. I have a great many similar books by the best minds. It take a good mind to read these things. Sadly, I am one person among my entire family who does read non-fiction.

I like to reminisce with people I don't know. Granted, it takes longer. Also Steven Wright
