“it all boils down to young women wanting to be moms”

... and being able to trust that the fathers won’t take a hike and leave them in the lurch.

That is why I avoided motherhood. I had too many single mother co-workers whose lives were a cautionary tale.

Two World Wars seemed to have just sucked all the life and dynamism out of Europe.

If we're talking about civilization exhaustion in the context of current Europe, some thinkers and commentators argue that parts of Europe are showing signs of this concept—not necessarily in collapse, but in a kind of fatigue or stagnation. Here's how that plays out:

---

1. Economic & Demographic Pressures

Aging Population: Many European countries have low birth rates and aging populations, putting strain on healthcare, pensions, and workforce size.

Stagnant Growth: Some economies (like Italy, for example) have seen very little growth for years. Youth unemployment remains high in parts of Southern Europe.

Dependency on Global Systems: Europe is heavily reliant on global trade and energy imports, which creates vulnerabilities (seen with the energy crisis after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine).

---

2. Political Fragmentation & Disillusionment

Rise of Populism: Voter frustration with traditional parties has led to the rise of nationalist and populist movements in France, Hungary, the Netherlands, etc.

EU Tensions: While the EU remains strong, there are constant internal disagreements on migration, military policy, and economic rules.

Civic Fatigue: Many citizens feel alienated from political elites or distrustful of institutions, especially in the wake of economic crises or the COVID pandemic.

---

3. Cultural & Ideological Weariness

Loss of a Clear Narrative: Unlike post-WWII reconstruction or the Cold War, Europe today doesn’t have a unifying vision. Questions about identity, culture, and purpose are increasingly common.

Debates Over Values: Issues like immigration, secularism vs. religion, and "wokeness" vs. tradition often polarize societies.

Innovation Lag: While Europe still leads in some industries, it often trails the U.S. and China in tech, AI, and military modernization.

---

4. Climate & Security Challenges

Climate Stress: Southern Europe is dealing with hotter summers, water shortages, and agricultural stress, which could intensify migration and economic stress.

War in Ukraine: While not exhaustion in itself, the war is testing Europe's unity, energy independence, and defense capacity.

That’s true. Boys need to be raised to be responsible young men. Ultimately, a revived majority Christian culture is the only long-term, across-the-board answer.

Civilized people are being systematically replaced in Western countries. Birth rates are low.

Politicians see an opportunity in that — bring in uncivilized people who will attack, steal from, rape, kill and REPLACE the civilized people. And then they will vote for the politicians who brought them in.

The USA put someone in office who is resisting that trend, and that’s why he is hated so intensely. The USA dodged a bullet by electing Trump.

The ones who won't get triggered and bolt at the sound of the phrase "white picket fence."

Gavin Newsom is going to try to pull off the used car salesman act by pretending to be a moderate so he can win the general election in 2028.

At this point, I think it'll be too obvious so he won't be able to pull it off.

But if he gets in the White House, he'll just continue the trend we've had under Obama and Biden.

I don’t think Western Civ would have survived if our founding fathers had now drawn up the Constitution/Bill of Rights.

IMO, it is the US Constitution that is holding up democracies and West. Civ.

There was a segment on Newsmax last week saying that the up-and-coming generation has the highest number of young men focused on faith than any generation in decades. If true, then maybe there’s hope for intact families in the future.

There are many threads on this subject. There is a reason on why the things are the way they are today. Misandry is the biggest issue in USA but it is not politically correct to point that out.

What’s it going to take to lift birth rates?

Social Security age <70:

What your children and their employers paid in FICA and SE tax the prior eight years.
