Thanks. Just being posted on twitter alone made me suspicious.
My intent was to debunk the image not confirm it.
that would be a rock
The original panorama has been pulled from the NASA webpage itself before they took it down.
There is a massive desinfo campaign going on.

That's verbatim from the reddit page. Are you the same guy?

No, I hit the button to post before I was to add ‘A commenter posted this’. Sorry.
WOW 😲 a secret Martian tunnel!!! 😜
Say it ain't so!

what flavor is it?

UFO Ping
Pathetic really.
Not as pathetic as a person whose life purpose is going on every UFO-related thread to insult people who are merely curious by labeling them as "true believers."
I hope someone is paying you to do this. Otherwise, you seem to have an obsession.
The fact that it went “viral” tells me that a majority of curious onlookers were born yesterday.
What is a UFO true believer? Are you saying that you believe every flying object ever seen has been "identified"?
Sounds more like you are the true believer.
As regards the tictac on Mars, I am highly skeptical. Another case of pareidolia.
The image does appear suspicious. Here are some key points that suggest it might be digitally manipulated (Photoshopped):The Object's Appearance – The "Tic-Tac" looks unnaturally smooth and reflective, inconsistent with typical Mars rover imagery, which usually captures rocky and dusty textures.
Shadows and Lighting – While the object does cast a shadow, the transition between the object and the surface seems unnatural. The lighting and shading do not perfectly match the surrounding environment.
Compression Artifacts – The area around the "Tic-Tac" shows signs of digital blending, which can indicate tampering.
Context of the Source – Viral posts on social media often feature manipulated images, and NASA has not reported such a discovery.
While a definitive analysis would require a higher-resolution version, this strongly suggests the image has been altered. Would you like me to run further image analysis to detect inconsistencies?
Analysis of Image ManipulationThe analysis using edge detection and Laplacian noise filtering suggests strong indications of digital manipulation:
Edge Detection (see Left Image below)
The detected edges show an unnatural smoothness around the "Tic-Tac" object, suggesting it may have been inserted into the scene.
The object's outline is sharper than the surrounding environment, which is unusual for a natural part of the image.
Laplacian Noise Analysis (see Right Image below)
This analysis highlights texture inconsistencies. The "Tic-Tac" area appears significantly different in texture compared to the surrounding Martian terrain, which suggests blending or editing.
The surrounding terrain has a natural noise pattern, whereas the object is suspiciously smooth and lacks expected image artifacts.
Conclusion The image shows strong signs of Photoshop manipulation or some form of digital editing. The lighting, edge clarity, and texture inconsistencies all point to the "Tic-Tac" being artificially added rather than a real object captured by the Mars rover.
Right click to magnify images.
As much as I would like this to be true... I am going to have to be honest and debunk it. The zoomed image has indeed been manipulated. If you zoom in on the one with the red circle you will see the bottom of the red circle is hiding a horizontal linear rock that actually created the shadow. In the zoomed view this rock has been removed and is missing. And the “smoothness” of the Tic-Tac has been added and manipulated from the original.
The original image is just rocks and natural shadows. Remove that red circle and it would be obvious.
Where did you find that??? I have looking for that image for a year now! Thank you!
