I am distrustful of Bukele until further notice. Something doesn’t sit right with how much arbitrary power he seized. Cleaning up the gangs is great. But what is next? Maybe it will be great and I am wrong. But it is Central America with a history.
Bukele or his successor will eventually become corrupt.
Even though Bukele is doing an amazing job right now.
But I think it's still his honeymoon.
What I would do is to write a new constitution. Then I'll resign after two terms and move out of country. Dubai seems nice.
And Bukele has shown his military is very obedient and follows orders to randomly search and arrest anyone at anytime sans warrant or suspicion.
El Salvador is safe now. So they should end their “State of Emergency”.
Lee Kuan Yew ruled Singapore with an iron fist. Today it's a modern and highly developed country.
We don’t have 60 Senators.
We The People don’t need Kabuki Theater in either chamber.
A constitution is only as good as the people upholding it.
Singapore was extremely lucky. Singapore would be a God forsaken drug riddled hole beset by continuous ethnic strife if not for him.
Better an honest and benevolent dictator than a corrupt democracy with a constitution that is warped and twisted by corrupt judges.
I know that it is difficult to ensure that a dictator is honest and benevolent, which is why as a general rule, checks and balances are needed.
Congress needs to fix the laws.
Judges get to say if the Biden or Trump interpretation is correct, sad to say.
Over 200 years ago Jefferson came to realize impeachment was not likely to be successful.
Take the Democratic toolboxes away by federal law:
no federal judge may issue an injunction,
no federal judge may sanction a consent decree,
no federal judge may....
