My plans to draw unemployment for five months were cut short by 4 1/2 months when I was hired by my current employer.
Through the miracle of LinkedIn I discovered my previous company hired 3 accountants to replace me.
Sorry if this comes out long.
I had a great job.
I was working for GTE in the GTE phone Mart in Marina del Rey Ca.
I was a customer rep and you could come into my store and sign up for new phone service. We could go over the available phone numbers so they could pick one they liked. It was fun.
You could also come into my store and hook up your boat with phone service.
I won’t bore you with the celebrity sightings.
They decided to take the phone reps out of the phone marts.
I was able to transfer to being a phone tech in the store.
Then they tried to lay off all the phone techs in the stores.
I actually got a pink slip.
Thankfully, the Union stepped in and said.
You have to lay off by seniority in that job title.
We had the same job title as the guys in the field.
It was terrible. They laid off men who had families.
And I got to keep my job.
Then,
I got pregnant and was loaned to the customer rep office.
While I was on maternity leave they re-organized everything.
I ended up in the customer rep office.
Which is where I belong.
I don’t know how many re-organizing/restructuring we went through.
My husband and I both worked for GTE.
Threat of layoffs Was constant.
You have to remember that those condoms for Nigerian crocodiles had to be sourced from a minority, female owned business. I wonder how many condoms the 50 million dollars actually bought. Probably just a few cases of those cheap planned parenthood condoms.
The Hard Left rage against Elon Musk and DOGE is not based on reality.
Musk - and his entire team - gather information and advise.
None of them have executive authority.
