While it is absolutely one’s personal choice l have always thought open carry is a bit vulgar in some contexts.

I would add it shows the mentality of Walmart’s admin that a sign is effective to alter individual behavior. Typical of the gun free zone morons

How come “I” never see anything like that at Walmart! But then, at my age the only thing it gets UP is my heart rate!

Most likely this is an effort to reduce liability. But they will get sued no matter what sign they put up.

Big reason I believe in cc vs open carry.
People are going to call me a nazi or whatever, but the degree of self awareness and situational awareness someone with open carry needs to have to, is not something most people have, myself included.
You’re painting a big fat target on your head, and like you said, someone can make a grab for it. If it’s concealed it is not obvious to jihad joe you’re packing.
I use a sneaky pete holster, essentially open carry, but since its a giant phone like flip lid case, no one cares. It’s odd, and definitely bulky, but that’s about all anyone cares about.

At one time in our history open carry was preferred and concealed carry was evil.
Currently open carry does cause a lot of consternation with many people, It will take some time before open carry is acceptable.

I would seldom OC around town. Out in the boonies, heck yeah I’d open carry. Of course could be in less danger in the boonies these days. 😊👍

The guy was carefully examining some merchandise on a shelf. He was paying zero attention to his holstered revolver. Anyone - a lunatic, a kid, a lunatic kid - could have easily taken his gun.
Do you even retention holster, bro?

So in Florida anyone can conceal carry but nobody can open carry?

With exceptions for camping, fishing and hunting, that is correct.

No kidding. And NO TV at gas station pumps. And NO gawd-awful “music” while on hold on the telephone.

Great, all for it. I see quite a bit of it.
If Walmart wants to put up a sign saying “Please refrain from openly displaying your religion” I don’t have a problem with it.
