He attended the school
His mom (and possibly dad) worked at the church/school
Both parents openly supported his transition
His parents have a lot of explaining to do, because it would be impossible for such supportive parents NOT to have seen the signs of his impending explosion.
In threat seminars put on by police that I’ve attended, there is a high percentage of church shooters that have some sort of an attachment of one sort to the church they shoot up - and this is evidence of that. However we have a far greater issue brewing that the following observations make clear -

After more than six months in office and two weeks after ordering the National Guard into Washington D.C. to aid local police in fighting the Democrat-run city’s epidemic of violent crime, Trump’s job approval rating jumped five points, from 40 percent in July to 45 percent today.
In this particular poll, that 45 percent is a record high, reaching back to when the AP first started tracking the president’s job approval in 2016.

Multiple ballistic missile impacts in Kyiv. One hit the British Council office, leaving it nearly destroyed. Several apartment were hit, over 14 killed so far.
Concurrently, a massive kamikaze drone assault was conducted by Ukraine across occupied Crimea, stretching from Saky to Sevastopol, and toward Bakhchysarai, Simferopol, and Ai-Petri. Air defenses were reported engaging numerous targets, including at least five jet-powered drones. Explosions and interception activity reported in multiple locations.

Very busy night in the sky of Ukraine and Russia. Russia continues to follow the pattern of several days of light attack activity followed by an intense strike like last night. Ukraine continues to hit Russian petroleum facilities, putting a hurt to an already diminished supply and processing capability. I would guess that repairs will take some time, since parts are not readily available and with multiple facilities clamoring for them, making them harder to obtain. Then throw in Russian corruption of the supply chain . . ..
Further talks on cease fire or peace are off the table in the near term. Russia does happy talk to Trump’s face, then tries to drive the knife deeper into Ukraine.

The IDF has intensified its ground campaign across the Gaza Strip, striking dozens of terror-related targets in recent days, the military said Thursday. Units under Southern Command have broadened their efforts, targeting terrorist infrastructure and operatives across the southern and northern sectors.
In southern Gaza, IDF troops eliminated several Hamas gunmen and dismantled key operational sites. The 188th Armored Brigade’s combat team advanced in Khan Yunis, working to assert control over the Magen Oz axis, a strategic corridor linking the eastern and western parts of the city. During the operation, several buildings used by Hamas as command posts were destroyed.
In the north, the 162nd Division continued clearing operations, focusing on surface and underground threats. Infantry units operating in the Jabalia area demolished multiple tunnel networks over the past 24 hours. In a separate incident, soldiers from the 401st Armored Brigade spotted three terrorists near their position. The troops coordinated with an aircraft, which engaged and killed the operatives.

Some analysts seem to think it was due to the discovery by Syrian forces of Israeli video and audio recording devices in areas of S Syria and may have been a recovery effort. Others review the base location as a key piece of controlling terrain that is being used to keep pressure on Druze inhabitants to the south. Not sure if we’ll get full disclosure on the operation any time soon.
In Gaza, Israel continues to increase the pressure, pushing further into Gaza city and other Hamas controlled areas. The brouhaha over the hospital strike seems to have been passed with the revelation of Hamas use of the area hit.

According to reports, Britain, France, and Germany are expected to officially trigger the “snapback” mechanism tomorrow (Thursday). This move would reinstate the full range of international sanctions that were imposed on Iran prior to the 2015 nuclear agreement.
OBSERVATION - Some rumors that Iran may even attempt some sort of kinetic response to the imposition of snap back sanctions - possibly in the form of terror strikes in the countries involved, using a third party.
Lebanon -
The Lebanese Army has begun its largest weapons collection process since the end of the civil war in 1990. The operation includes Palestinian camps south and north of the Litani River. - Al Arabiya
The Lebanese army has begun receiving weapons from Palestinian Fatah fighters at Rashidieh camp, part of a broader disarmament starting last week in Beirut. Weapons from southern camps will be handed over later, marking the largest collection operation since the 1975–1990 civil war, covering areas across the Litani River.
OBSERVATION - I would note that these operations are NOT collecting weapons from Hezbollah elements in the same area. When they show up at Hezbollah locations, fireworks could happen.

Israeli ground forces appear to have raided a Syrian base in Tal Maneh in the Kiswah area near Damascus, after carrying airstrikes against the site
The site reportedly houses the 76th Division of the Syrian Army according to Syrian media.

Pretty much the same on the ground over the weekend. Growing rumors on a Russian Fall Offensive, but in the same area where Ukraine has progressively retaken terrain. Very small window before mud season starts.
Same with drones, though OSINT analysts note the ongoing Ukrainian targeting of Russia’s petroleum system is having growing effects. Ukraine has also touted the deployment of new, long range drones and missiles, many of which have reportedly seen action over the past week.

Hamas’ PR efforts to get European / international efforts to force Israel to stop its offensive in Gaza are not effective. Threats of sanctions and recognition of a Palestinian ‘state’ are not stopping Netanyahu. Current operations have the backing of Trump and there is an urgency to get Gaza wrapped up via a military solution rather than have things drag out further with these so call ceasefires.
Houthis FAFO’d again and Israel did what they’ve been doing best - taking out leadership. Houthis fell into a false sense of security that they thought the distance from Israel provided to regularly have leadership group together to hear their glorious religious leader spew one of his sermons. This time, Israeli Intel got the word on the locations and IAF had a two hour window to strike - and strike they did. We may find out later this week who on the military side got waxed. On the civilian side only three ministers survived. Response using missiles and drones were ineffective. The missiles believed to have been used are assesses as being home-grown so to say.
Diplomatic pressure on Israel and Israeli military pressure in Gaza city both are expected to rise this week.

Israel Hayom Report: Iran announced it is prepared to scale back uranium enrichment to 3.67 percent, on the condition that its right to enrich is formally acknowledged.
OBSERVATION - Iran is desperate to avoid the snap back sanctions. They’ll make this ‘concession’, but history fully well shows that when they can, they’ll go back to higher levels of purity work.

The snapback mechanism under UN Resolution 2231 allows sanctions to return automatically after 30 days unless a new resolution blocks it.

Update on U.S. Navy deployments to SOUTHCOM:
- USNI identified the guided-missile cruiser assigned to the task force, USS Lake Erie (CG 70), now operating in U.S. 4th Fleet
- IWOARG is underway en route to SOUTHCOM: USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) + USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28) left Norfolk yesterday; USS San Antonio (LPD 17) departed today
- USS Gravely (DDG 107), USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109), and USS Minneapolis-St. Paul (LCS 21) are on station in the Caribbean; USS Sampson (DDG 102) is still south of Panama
- The fast attack sub remains unidentified, but several have been active off the east coast in August
OBSERVATION - Many view this deployment as targeting Venezuela in particular, but also working to interdict drug smuggling routes. This does give Trump a pretty good strike force if necessary.
Misc of Note –
For those interested, me and the missus spent a relaxing weekend at Lost Trail Hot Springs in western Montana. Nice wooded and rustic setting. Wonderful pools - great for young kids. If you have vacation time, it has simple RV and camping sites, low rates and a peaceful setting.
That is SUCH good news.

OBSERVATION - Chicago’s mayor is already fomenting violence should federal forces enter the city. Legally, the situation is different from DC, as I’ve noted before. Earlier this year, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, an Obama appointee, issued an injunction against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that barred Lee Zeldin from reclaiming funds that had been frozen at Citibank.

“We conclude the district court abused its discretion in issuing the injunction. OBSERVATION - Tracking this development here as it may well trigger large scale violence against federal elements in the city as well as spread to other major blue metro areas. The left has been looking for a triggering event for over a year now to rally the troops for a Floyd style uprising. The main call will be to associate it with ‘martial law’. Others are saying that Trump is trying to ‘normalize’ the presence of military on the streets of cities — as a kind of progressive martial law.
What is known is that the deployment in DC has caused the mayor there to be a whole hearted supporter as violent crime has plummeted over 80% and various other reports of families returning to parks and areas they once feared due to crime.

The federal agents coming together appear to be primarily that of tackling illegal apprehension and detention and not so much crime reduction. However, taking illegals off the streets will lead to reductions in these heavily crime area. I’ve noted in the past that historical ‘indigenous’ street gangs have increasingly been feeling the pinch of illegal gangs like MS13, etc pressing in on their turf. They may well see Fed ops as an opportunity to fink out these illegal gangs and let the govt do their dirty work for them.

Two Federal Reserve officials who spoke Wednesday said labor market worries continue to animate their belief that rate cuts still lie ahead for the central bank.
“I’ve been clear that I think we should be cutting at the next meeting,” Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said in an interview with CNBC, reiterating the view he has held for some time and led him to dissent at the late July Fed meeting in favor of an easing. “You want to get ahead of having the labor market go down because usually when the labor market turns bad, it turns bad fast,” he said.

(FO) On Monday, Chinese President Xi proposed the Global Governance Initiative (GGI) to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and called on them to set the example for the world. The GGI is meant to complement the Global Development, Security, and Civilization Initiatives (GDI, GSI, GCI).

MY OBSERVATION - China has been working the long game for some time now trying to establish an opposing coalition to US influence in the region. Much of Xi’s rhetoric must be understood that it is redefined by China’s intent. For instance - “abiding by international rule of law” fades in the face of aggressive Chinese moves to seize islands the same international law says belongs to other nations. Pokrovsk axis (Formerly Ocheretyne) -
Russia has been storming Pokrovsk for over 10 months, losing up to 60,000 troops on this axis, according to Ukraine’s “Dnipro” Strategic Grouping command. Yet Bloomberg reports Moscow is massing forces here again for a new major offensive.
Summary —
Talks of the ‘new’ Russian offensive continue in the Pokrovsk region. The Spring/Summer offensive made very gains except for this area. Russia has managed to partially encircle Pokrovsk, bypassing it to the north and south but Ukrainian counter attacks have prevented them from sealing the deal. Any offensive will be a grueling meat assault effort. Tanks and APCs provide little support, when available, as they are quickly targeted, forcing premature dismounting of infantry to be picked apart further by drones and artillery. To make matters worse, the mud is coming, so they’ve got to get things started sooner than later.
The Ukraine weapons development team seems to be conducting initial combat tests of the ‘Flamingo” cruise missile. As production ramps up, expect these to allow Ukraine to strike deeper and harder. Denmark is hosting an production facility - making it harder for Russia to interdict without starting WW3.
Russia continues its cyclic pattern of drone/missile attacks. Some OSINT analysts are reporting that Russian bombers suffered a lot a technical problems that only permitted 8 of 40 cruise missiles to be fired in the last attack run. These were the advanced TU-160 supersonic ones, requiring a lot of maintenance. Observers will be watching to see if this is a developing trend or a one time incident.

The sudden switch by Hamas to ‘agree’ to a ceasefire proposal (in name only ) from months ago is evidence that they are against the ropes and are desperate to take the pressure of the Israeli action towards Gaza City off the table. OBSERVATION - There have been some 2A groups that have come out against the ban on the basis that any ban is unconstitutional. This position is a bit dishonest in that from previous mass shootings, the mental illness of the shooter is a key factor and calls back then were raised to get guns out of their hands. To encourage allowing the mentally violent to have unrestricted access to guns is self defeating.
On the flip side, I recognize that the left will take advantage of word games to likely try to expand the definitions of ‘mentally ill’ to those hold opposing political views. Ukrainian attack drones successfully struck Russia’s Ryazan oil refinery again tonight, setting it ablaze. Per reports, one of the refinery’s main process units took a direct hit. Previously it was also targeted on 2nd of August. It is one of the largest facilities in Russia.

According to Ukrainian sources, the Atesh partisan movement and an underground Ukrainian network helped direct the strike on a key fuel depot in Luhansk. The site, now burning, supplied Russia’s 41st and 20th combined arms armies.
Summary —
Moderately strong drone/missile attack overnight, with some solid hits. Ukraine OTOH continues to hammer away on Russia’s oil production and refining. This latest strike on the Ryazan oil refinery, second over the course of a few days, appears to have nailed one of the refinery’s main process units. This is more of a critical hit than the storage tanks. This is the heart of the refinery and its loss means months of hard work to bring the facility back on line. Storage tanks can be plumbed around, main processing units can’t.
Though not noted specifically above, but other OSINT analysts indicate that recent Russian advances are becoming more and more cut off as Ukraine pinches off the salients created. This is evidence that at a lower, tactical level Russia appears to be lacking sufficient reserves to exploit penetrations of Ukraine defenses.

The Israeli army announces its control over 40% of Gaza City and the continuation of the military operation
The IDF says it will strike several Gaza City buildings used by Hamas for surveillance, command centers, sniper positions, missile launch sites, and tunnels. Extensive intelligence confirms Hamas has embedded combat infrastructure in civilian towers, rigged them with explosives, and uses them to ambush Israeli forces. Action in Gaza City have stepped up immensely with the targeting and destruction of major buildings. As noted by Israel, Hamas has incorporated its military operations into these buildings on multiple levels and by doing so clearly makes them valid military targets. Their loss/destruction by Israel will likely send a wave of shock thru Hamas supporting Gazans as these buildings hold a degree of symbolism of pride, their destruction building acknowledgement that Hamas is losing the war and Gazans their way of life.
Already, the desperation of Hamas has been evident. From the calls for a new ceasefire/hostage release to putting videos of living hostages on social media threatening to kill them should Israel continue.
Katz pretty much said it well - “Once the door is opened, it will not be closed” (see above). Israel is past the stage for negotiations and wants an end once and for all to Hamas. Now 700 days into the war, Hamas is out of cards to play.
Another factor for Israel’s drive is the Sep 22 UN confab on the establishment of a “Palestinian state”. This is a general assembly level conference that will see the antisemities from around the world spewing misinformation and lies, as usual. Any measure forwarded to the Security Council is certain to be vetoed by the US. It will result in increased pressure by some govts to try to force a ceasefire via sanctions and other mechanisms. Israel is nearly beyond caring.

Two Venezuelan F-16s armed with air-to-surface missiles carried out a low-altitude flyover of the USS Jason Dunham (DDG-109) earlier today in the Southern Caribbean Sea, as a reported “Show of Force” against the U.S. Navy. The Jason Dunham is one of several Arleigh Burke-Class Guided-Missile Destroyers currently deployed in the Southern Caribbean, carrying out counter-cartel and narcotics operations off the coast of Venezuela.
OBSERVATION - This tactic is commonly used in the past by Russian jets against US/NATO vessels in the Med and N Sea regions. Technically ‘legal’ in international waters, it is a highly dangerous move never the less. The anti ship weapons load is another threat. As long as targeting radars and the like stay shut off, generally a fly by is uncontested.
Some have been saying why was the ship surprised. Well nothing indicates any surprise, the F16s were likely detected a ways out and tracked in with defensive systems locked on.
Very dangerous move though. Any slightest deviation would have brought the defensive firepower of the destroyer to bear and splash 2 F16s. Dangerous game of chicken.
It is uncertain if the deployment of F35s to Puerto Rico was in direct response to this action or not. They could well operate as a CAP for the naval forces should Venezuela get froggier.
