Hail has destroyed other solar panels.
A normal power plant would still be running 24/7 after a storm.

What Happens When a Tornado Strolls Through a Solar Farm? You know. 180,000 panels powering 23,000 homes. The good news: The people whose homes were 'powered' by that field will never even know it was gone. The bad news: the tab to replace them will be paid by those same people with higher rates.
