I clicked on another The Quartering video and got hit with a 45 second unskippable ad.
Right now the unskippable ads are running shorter than early this morning. I don’t know if that is a function of the time of the day or some other reason. Maybe YouTube thinks it is easier to get away with it during times of the day (or night) when it is lower traffic rather than in the middle of the afternoon. As for that FIVE MINUTE unskippable ad that ran on The Quartering this morning that obviously served to BLOCK viewers from watching videos on that channel.
Calm down...
When you put an ad on YouTube you can pay extra to make it unskippable... or pay less and it will be skippable....
That’s how it works. Whoever is running the unskippable ads paid for that, while the skippable ones did not pay the extra to make them unskippable.
Same here. Can't skip them fast enough.
I use ghostery and chrome on my laptop. I had to “enable ads” on ghostery to get the skip button to show up. Sometimes it still doesn’t so I refresh and the ad almost always disappears.
Just my 2 cents,
O2

OK, that is a serious tool with great option settings. As long as it doesn’t cause issues it’s self to Firefox which some extensions will do.
Looks great so far!
Thank You!
“...what?? USE Rumble instead!!”
I agree! We need to run from Youtube like it is on fire!
Works great. One oddity is that when it nails utube cookies, it also takes cookies from mercurynews.com which is a liberal rag in San Jose. The fact that the murky news is tracking utube users is interesting.

Google is the common connection. Everyone who uses Google services on their site are all tied together through the Google database. So they are sharing users with each other through Google.
Google is one big net of domains using their services. We had to remove Youtube video embedding from our domain to be rid of them and their global net connections.
Bet NoScript would show you that they are using Google services. And if they embed Youtube videos on the site it gets even worse. I have no clue why using Google services is such an addiction in the industry. It needs to stop. A site can be built just fine WITHOUT any Google.
Yep...

Why three exclamation points?
You’re not surprised, I hope.
You want I should discount them down to TWO exclamation points?
You’re not surprised, I hope.
A one minute unskippable ad I shouldn't be too surprised knowing it is YouTube's mission to SUPPRESS conservative channels but a FIVE MINUTE unskippable ad and we are back to THREE exclamation points again!!!
What happened to BCP, the Black Conservative Patriot? I haven’t seen a video from him in a few years.
No ads with Brave Browser.
I just checked and apparently he has been PURGED by YouTube since a few years ago.
And the exact year of YouTube’s purge of BCP was 2021.
*IF you are NOT using Brave browser*
You absolutely DESERVE the number of ads you get, because you are STUPID!
I haven’t seen an ad on a Youtube video for over 4 years!!!
You know that old saying by Einstein about the malleability of time...comparing a kiss with a pretty girl to putting your hand on a stove...even though both might take only a second, but the kiss seems to take an eternity and the hot stove seems to take only a nanosecond. He might have said kissing a pretty girl and seeing Kamala Harris's face, but even the juxtaposition of those two images might well cause a rip in the time-space continuum...
Okay, it looks like YouTube got their wakeup call from this video from yesterday because today all the channels that I checked yesterday that had loooong unskippable ads no longer have them. Why YouTube thought they could get away with their scam is beyond me.
YouTube has not yet blocked evangelical or fundamentalist preachers. I must wonder when all the allegedly Christian content they will permit will come from liberal Protestants or the Left wing of the Catholic Church.
