I still remember going to a John Deere opening in Boise City OK back in 1950 or ‘51. Last time I was at such an opening. I was 4 years old.

West of there has to be one of the loneliest corners of the lower 48. Something makes it especially empty even when compared to areas I know are more empty and bigger. The country along 87 looks like it was made for a Western.
There are more people on our little Ozark town (4000) than in the entire Cimarron County. Same for next door Union County NM where we lived in 1950.
