But the big question is, does Merchan actually have any integrity. There is zero chance of that.
It seems likely that Merchan wants to declare a mistrial and then do the whole thing over again.

The Supreme Court should jump in and spank little judge boy Merchan for all his legal misdeeds and throw the whole sham trial out the window. Merchan is making a mockery out of the judicial system. The SC can’t allow it.
This is easy enough to prove/disprove. The poster said his cousin was on the jury and SHE said Trump was going to be convicted.
Just bring in the female jurors and question them. Is there a family connection to this dirtball Anderson? I’d of thought that would have been done already.
I’m betting the judge is playing CYA with this as the Administrative judge would want to know what, if anything, was done once it came to light. Hence the notification.
Worse yet, because the jury's verdict has already been received, he could decide to declare a mistrial on the counts the jury had not voted on when the juror spoke to her cousin, finding them tainted, but enter a final judgment on the other counts.
That way, Trump has felony conviction, that he must appeal, and he is still under the gag order, and may be retried between now and the election.
Will they start over after that?
You know, that's probably what they're going to do. It'll allow Merchan to keep Trump in NYC for the duration and seriously hamper any campaign efforts.
Now that I think about it more, I DARE Merchan to do the above. It'll show everyone who still refuses to see, how CORRUPT our judicial system is.
I agree. It's his ploy to keep control over the process, rather than letting it go on appeal to higher courts, where it will be slapped down and possibly re-assigned.
imho is the one who forced the jury into a guilty verdict with his jury instructions that turned the word unanimous on its head and is trying to divert attention away from it he knows trump will win and doesn't want to be charged with his crime and prosecuted after trump takes office spitOR, this Michael Anderson is just an internet troll......
The entire jury had a predetermined guilty verdict as did Merchan who basically instructed the jury to find him guilty and actively blocked the defense. The whole thing was a sham.
Assuming the post by the cousin is legitimate, it doesn’t necessarily prove a predetermined outcome (although it’s clear that was already in the cards) but it does prove that juror discussed the case with people outside jury deliberations in violation of jury instructions. If it was any defendant besides Trump or one of his allies, a mistrial would be automatic.
