If Mexico refuses to take the deportations then a Trump-like solution would be for Abbott to call El Presidente of Mexico and tell him, “Senor, you have thousands of Mexicans crossing our border every day working in Texas and returning home every night, and it is a great arrangement. If you refuse deportations, the Texas/Mexican border will be sealed in 48 hours to all inbound traffic.”

Good morning. Here's a reminder that the word "immigration" appears NOWHERE in the Constitution or in any of its Amendments. The word "naturalization" does appear. That, of course pertains to the process whereby an immigrant becomes a citizen.
If FedGov refuses to protect a state from invasion, it is the responsibility of the State to repel same.
