“If you own an EV, you better have a garage. Ideally, one separate from the house in case the car catches fire.”
There was an article posted earlier today about a family that didn’t take your advice and instead parked their EV in an attached garage. It looks like they still have a house, but I doubt they’ll be able to smell out short of replacing the sheetrock. Whoops.
“Ever seen an EV uber?......me either”
Same here - been on 100 or so Uber rides too. Seems that time is money for Uber drivers as they don’t make much money when hooked up to an extension cord.
“And just where are they going to chuck the haz-batts?”
They’ll have you cover the disposal costs (which are very labor-intensive), but only AFTER they mandate that all vehicle sales be EVs.
Considering that Hertz mainly rents to corporate clients, I doubt most of their customers have a range problem. It’s more likely that their customers don’t want to go around hunting for charging stations and be stuck there for an hour or two, often with their work being in an inner city.
So the bottom line is that corporate clients are telling Hertz to SHOVE IT when they try to stick them with an EV. Something, obviously, that Hertz would have found out if they had bothered to TEST MARKET the cars first.
So, at this point, Hertz is too embarrassed to admit their idiocy and instead decided to point to the obvious other flaws of EVs, essentially blaming the cars, rather than their own idiotic management.
I like seeing this story get reposted. Many people don’t have time to fully review all of the posted stories every day...so having something this important posted multiple times is a good thing, in my opinion at least.
I feel his pain - but I suffer too. Last time I filled my car, the car in front of me seemed to take forever - something like five minutes. I had to wait that long...
