“You could get a Starlink.
I believe it is $500 plus $50/month.”
Yes. About one month after our Xfinity install, after four months of BEGGING for service from ANYONE including Starlink, we got notice that Starlink now is available to us.
We were desperate, juggling hotspots, etc. Now Starlink is possible, but maybe I need some down time in the technology area. I think it gave me ulcers.
Also, what can you say about Starlink Customer Service? When shopping around, there was much to say that it is nonexistent. Your opinion?
Customizing your password towards the site also helps. Your xfinity password could contain the word “comcast” in it somewhere. That keeps you from re-using passwords. Hackers tend to strong-arm passwords rather than take and educated guess at them.
And I change them all on a regular basis.
That still is not enough, as a keylogger infiltration into a system will eventually reveal all passcodes to the sponsor. I sweep my systems regularly to check for such things.
And I check transactions on all critical applications every few days.
Paranoid much? Well, yes. It goes with the job and the times in which we live.
Good: Set a group policy for all installs to require Admin login. I can’t even get to Task Manager without logging in again.
Best: Create a VM that uses Linux to do all your email and browsing. Linux requires root to install something.
I don’t have an opinion.
I have Comcast/Xfinity.
It was the only option when we moved in.
I think we could probably get Fidium Fiber optic now if we wanted to pay for them to extend the service about 100 yards to the pole in front of our house.
They have it in the town next door.
We are right on the border.
Still has garbage upload speeds. Looked at one offering, 500mbps down, 30mbps up.
Does anyone have knowledge of a similar breach at CARRINGTON MORTGAGES?
Sounds bad. Making money is all they care about.
