If the spacecraft is indeed lost, it will delay the Luna program by years at a minimum, and possibly shelf it altogether.

Meanwhile, the USA is flying robotic helicopters on Mars.

Moscow just shut down their airports right now.

Random thought. What would the airlines that still fly into Russia do if Ukrainian drones destroyed a couple empty Aeroflot jets on the tarmac in Moscow? Or the airport fuel farms?

Very different (quiet) night for Russian Ruble exchange rates last night - very stable around 94 to the Dollar.

The night prior, the ruble seemed to be holding under steady attack.

Maybe it is a weekend effect.

The Kh-22 is a liquid rocket fueled missile. The missile would be fueled just prior to aircraft load out.

Each missile has a 1000kg (2200 pound) warhead (big boom).

My guess is the missiles were being prepared for launch. They were in a staging area just prior to being fueled.

UKR special forces (or partisans) have probably been watching this operation for weeks and waiting for this opportunity.

Vision of the Future https://t.me/s/obrazbuduschego2 According to operational data, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing a breakthrough in the area of the Antonovsky bridge. They can start hitting any day. Already concentrated 3 waves of 2500 people and 38 armored vehicles Stryker, Maxxpro and Bushmaster. 23 tanks, including 4 Leopard-1 and 3 Challenger-2. https://t.me/obrazbuduschego2/15129

If the Ukies can secure enough of a bridgehead on the South East bank of the Dnieper, and start bringing more troops across and supply them, it will cause major problems for the Ruskies. They will need to fall back to Crimea in the South, and to East as well. I have been waiting for this move. It was just a matter of when and where, not if.
