Absurd, irrelevant analogy, XiDen fan.
No sale….again.
An immediate ceasefire and a negotiated settlement to the conflict.
The Biden administration is and has been blocking any attempts at a ceasefire and negotiated peace since the very start of this conflict.
At the same time, NATO and US politicians and "policy experts" have been crowing about how we are "waging a proxy war" in Ukraine to "Attrit" and weaken Russian forces .
Ironically, it seems like Barak Obama and Joe Biden are the ones who want their 1980s Cold War policies back
Factual information that people should know as part of the CB information packet, like knowing that the use of CBs is not a war crime, or that Russia has been using them since the first days of their invasion, or that Russia is accused of using CBs repeatedly in war crimes against civilians in Ukraine.
Your solution of surrender and ceasing to exist is always open to a country being invaded for conquest.
Many humans don’t share your willingness to submit to force.
If anybody uses nukes against us, damn straight.
evil empire usa
thank the liberals
militant marxist freaks
They don't in most cases.
Certainly not the Russian ones. And the Ukrainian ones are Russian ones.
Besides, most of the unexploded bomblets (at least on the American side) are malfunctions. Unexploded ordnance is an impediment to military operations when you have to go over the area you just bombed.
To a certain extent, the cluster bomb issue is a red herring because both Russia and Ukraine have seed the fields with massive quantities of much more deadly and destructive mines and booby traps
The post war clean up in Ukraine is going to both an expensive and lenghty process.
Obviously, since the CIA was able to move the earth under Russian tanks to make it look like Russia was invading Ukraine, it would be nothing for the CIA to liter Ukraine with Russian-looking canisters of cluster bombs. BUT since these so-called Russian cluster bombs weren’t totally exploded, they were obviously CIA props because everything made in Russia works perfectly.
Russia and China have deployed military equipment, military advisors, and operational units to: Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela. We have not invaded those places. (Nevertheless, I wouldn’t advise those countries to invade their neighbors.)
Many humans don't share your willingness to submit to force.
This is a common attitude. We last saw it play out in a big way in Berlin in the summer of 1945.
This attitude was generally considered on of the biggest and most destructive mistakes in modern military history. It reduced German cities to ashes and resulted in the unnecessary deaths of over one million German men women and children
History also shows that this fight on to the bitter end mentality is pushed by the dead enders in leadership who are going to wither be killed in the final conflict, commit suicide at the end or be hanged as war criminals if captured.
The mindset is not uniformly shared by general population, many of whom just wish an end to the war.
I'm pretty certain that a plurality, if not an actual majority, of Ukrainians would be very much in favor of a cease fire and negotiated peace.
It's the outsiders who are are driving the war who have been and still are blocking a peace agreement who are preventing negotiations, not the Ukrainian people.
What a ridiculous effort you make with that silliness.
Russia is invading Ukraine, Russia is WWII Germany, and has no intention of Ukraine ever existing again.
The Ukrainians are refusing to submit, quit pretending differently.
[This attitude was generally considered on of the biggest and most destructive mistakes in modern military history. It reduced German cities to ashes and resulted in the unnecessary deaths of over one million German men women and children]
And yet this is considered one of the best speeches in human history:
“We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.”
I guess it all depends upon one’s point of view.
What war crime was violated?
The only decent/respectable thing hohos could do at this point is surrender.
I'm not here to defend the Russians, nor do I support them
I would like to see the Ukraine prevail but it just ain't gonna happen unless the US and NATO (mostly the US as always) intervenes directly.
I do not support the US going to war in Ukraine.
I do not support the US supply of weapons to keep the war in Ukraine going because we have run out of munitions and money to supply Ukraine to prop up their military and prevent the economic collapse of both the Ukraine government and economy.
Any aid we send to Ukraine should be used to bolster their negotiating posture to extract the best negotiated settlement possible for the Ukrainian people.
This is not what is happening. Instead, we are wasting our aid on the further death and destruction of the Ukraine. This waste is going to eventually end in the collapse of the Ukrainian military resulting in the defeat of Ukraine in the conflict and a total victory for Russia at worst and much worse negotiating position in peace talks at best.
Total lose - lose no matter how you slice it.
Just reality and it seem nobody in the Biden Admin or NATO is willing to face up to that reality.
I doubt that the already weak and now much more weakened by munitions depletion to Ukraine Euro component of NATO could go against Russia without massive US support and meaningful US support invites both nuclear confrontation with Russia and multi theater conflicts in Asia at a time when the US military is poorly situate for a two front European and Pacific war. Which is where we are headed if we do not change course.
I heard the same person say using a gun, or a grenade, or a bomb dropped from an airplane is also a war crime.
Do you actually believe that, or do you think saying that will influence US politics in the direction you prefer?
Of course I believe that. I have no influence. I’m some random dude.
You are only right about the first part. Ukraine is not the USA, we all know that.
But Ukraine is our ally, and for many years has supported the west, the USA, and the goals of NATO. Ukraine even entered into an agreement with the USA to give up their ICBMs and nuclear weapons. We promised to protect them.
Russia's invasion of a neighboring country is certainly our business. Stopping their expansionist goals in Ukraine is a lot better option than stopping them in Estonia, or Poland, or Turkey, or Romania, or any other place where our NATO commitments would put US soldiers at the zero line fighting.
Those were Russia’s weapons and Ukraine did not possess launch capability.
Ukraine isn’t in NATO.
We have zero moral ground to dictate anything.
How’s Afghanistan?
Iraq?
Syria?
Libya?
What if Russia and China put military bases in Cuba and Mexico?
Are you good with that?
America, as far as military and government are concerned, is hypocritical.
