“Very interesting hit. Convoy seems abandoned?”
Yeah, the Russian 1917 logistics capability...they probably ran out of gas again.
Putin blew the dam to disrupt a Dnipro crossing and move his best remaining troops from the area to fight in Zaporizhia and Donetsk. His land bridge’s days are numbered. I really want to know how Ukrainian will attempt the crossing. I saw something about using helicopters in a big way.
Probably a hundred years. They are still finding ordnance from WW2 in Europe.
“The question is does Ukraine drive east to Enerhodar and Melitopol or south to Crimea?”
If possible, a strike toward Crimea might make a lot of Russian forces bolt, if they see the door getting ready to close behind them.
It’s clobbering time.
“Putin’s swagger is gone”
I think that he enjoys his usual lying - it makes him feel that he is getting over on people, and getting away with something, which is exhilarating.
So part of his loss of swagger may be the worry that he is not going to get away with fooling his audience, that he is going to get caught and exposed. He is going to be hard pressed to spin the stomping that Russia is going take, because of him.
Part of it may also be the normal reaction of someone who has been exposed to some horrible situation - a bit of shock or PTSD from grim news he has gotten. He might even be feeling a bit guilty, for having inflicted so much loss on his country (he seems kind of sociopathically cold to the suffering of most others, but does seem moved by patriotism).
In summary, like you said, he knows he’s losing.
