Nobody rioted on account of Trump’s not telling them not to. If they were gonna riot, they would have rioted anyway. If they weren’t, they didn’t. All banning him did was make it possible for the swampees to falsely claim that he incited the riot, because he failed to say anything to stop it, when in fact he did, repeatedly.
Trump doesn’t control his supporters like puppets on a string, but he does have influence.
Jacob Chansley (”the QAnon Shaman”) called on protestors to go home when he heard that that is what Trump was asking people to do.

I saw a video of that. There was also the tunnel where, visible to some of the crowd, they beat one woman while she cowered and begged for mercy and beat another woman while she lay unconscious and dying.

I suspect at some point payback is going to be a terrifying spectacle.
It was common sense to not have a riot. The fact that Trump’s calls for peaceable behavior were blocked did not cause the riot, just gave the false narrative of the Dems that the riot that the swamp caused was Trump’s doing, or that he sat on his hands. But dammit, I want to see that video of the cop pushing the old man down the stairs.
Won’t show it on FNC, either, that.
