Just remember that Walgreens is a Chicago-based company. When they pull out to start closing more stores in the city, you would think that the people would be smart enough to realize that they live in a rat infested hell hole of crime.
Probably shoplifting
If they were smart they would pull out of all the crappy blue cities overrun by crime and shoplifters
Initially, 15 years ago Chicago kept Walmart out of the city because they would not unionize. Then, they relented when black neighborhoods started complaining that they wanted the jobs that Walmart would bring to their neighborhoods. So, Walmart allowed a few stores in black neighborhoods. Big mistake. The stores, needless to say, were losers and they did not have stores in white neighborhoods to offset the losses.
Or, they could let their “wayward grandson” sit there and stew for awhile and think about what he did wrong.
Maybe Chicago's NOT being kind - maybe Lori LiteBrain doesn't have the money to put all these folks in jail. Gotta feed and house the little creeps.

Over time, they will. Walmart is the first big box store to close; they won’t be the last.
walmart is only closing 3 stores in Illinois in 2023 and none are in chicago.
Blackrock would fit that description.
You won’t know that the city’s black population has caught on until there is a city wide power blackout and no stores get looted.
We are not having a recession
Joe Biden
ICYMI, Walgreens and CVS have been quietly closing stores in the worst neighborhoods in the city.
The Walgreens at Wacker and Jackson closed up shop and it was always busy. The shoplifting got to be too much for them.
Must’ve been those horrible suburbanites commuting into and out of the city every day robbing the place blind!
I’m familiar with the locations of those three stores. Two of them are in “demographically depressed” areas and I can see why they’re closing up shop.
The one in Plainfield, IL makes no sense. I’ve been to that one in the past two - three years. It’s one of Walmart’s nicer stores and unless the place is getting robbed blind I don’t see why it’s closing. It’s always busy, lines at registers, etc..
no kiddin. the plainfield area exploded about 10 years ago...and it's still growing.
Walmart was talking about adiosing their pick-up only operation...looks like they are making that come true.
I've never been to Homewood except to play golf. I'm surprised walmart is not being called racist for closing this one.
Homewood isn’t the worst, what surrounds it is. I can see why Homewood is closing. Plainfield no.
Walmart typically only closes when the economics don’t work out or the village has something planned that makes them staying untenable.
I’m surprised the Walmart in Orland Hills wasn’t on the list. It’s a complete craphole with fat section 8 baby mommas in there all the time blocking the aisles, throwing stuff around and a lot of crime like shoplifting, there were a few shootings in the past year and the store is filthy. I went in there a year ago to get some ink for my printer and vowed to never go in there again.
It was that bad.
I started going to the one in New Lenox which used to be nice, not so anymore. I limit my Walmart excursions to once a year, go early before all the section 8ers wake up and infest the place.
Walmart is my once a year toiletries stock up place. I’m due to go back in the next 30 days. Ugghhh.
