A DirecTV spokesperson reportedly told The Daily Beast that the company “wanted to continue to offer the network, but ultimately Newsmax’s demands for rate increases would have led to significantly higher costs that we would have to pass on to our broad customer base.” Ruddy said in his statement that “‘[t]he most extreme liberal channels, even with tiny ratings, get fees from AT&T’s DirecTV, but Newsmax and OAN need to be deplatformed.’”

Direct TV is a propaganda arm of the DNCCP.

DirecTV's reason for getting rid of Newsmax is because Newsmax asked for more payment per subscriber and DirecTV would have to pass along those increases to their subscribers.
So now that DikrecTV has dropped Newsmax altogether and doesn't have to pay them a penny, DirecTV is going to lower their prices, right? RIGHT?

Simple solution: drop Direct TV.
Going internet TV instead of sat tv was the smartest move I’ve made in a while.

Seems like federally regulated satellite transmission is being used in a partisan manner.
Kinda like when AT&T (telecom) kept CNN afloat

It is a dispute over carriage fees.
Nothing sinister about this.

I believe all the streaming devices such as Roku and Firestick and Chromecast and your Android phone all allow you to install the Newsmax app or just use your browser.
It might even be available on Apple TV.

After 23 years of having Directv I called and told them to cancel my account after this billing cycle. I have dropped down four channel packages since this sleigh ride began. I have a dvr and a mini and no premium channels and they wanted $107 a month. I dropped down to a near bottom package and lost several channels we watched, no one was happy, especially the queen of the house.
We live in the mountains and Directv or Dish was our only options for TV until last summer when finally got Starlink and my adult kids told me to try steaming for a week for free on some of the streaming services and I found for around $45 I can watch all the programs I had been watching before. Unfortunately with Roku they offer Murder She Wrote for free, the queen of the house will binge this series. I think I left Hallmark hell for Murder She Wrote misery...
