The more pertinent question is whether people took and replaced the documents as disinformation; as well as whether they were allowed to be seen, copied, or otherwise checked out like a library by 3rd parties or used for extortion purposes (by anybody against anyone).

It just takes one small remark for one to become famous. Hank Johnson did that with that “capsize of Guam” remark. Every time I see him at TV, I laugh and want to visit Guam. What really surprised me is that the remark does not impact his re-election at all. It made me really curious about his district

I do believe Guam administration there owes Johnson some money for advertising. Ever since he made that capsize remark, I bet a lot of Americans had just found out there is an island called Guam in pacific as tourist spot.
Biden had access to that material before Trump ever took office and certainly before he had any notion he would be Prez in 2021.
The "set-up" would be the discovery and its timing, not the placement.
Something else to ponder. One of the versions of the story is that lawyers found the documents while moving boxes. What lawyers move boxes at someone else’s location?
I have the impression that you are correct. This scandal is being driven by the left.
I used to live in the edge of the district. It used to be Cynthia McKinney’s district. As I said when she was in it, the fact that a Cynthia McKinney (or a Hank Johnson) is in Congress does not scare me. What scares me is that there is a whole Congressional district of people that will repeatedly vote such a person into office.
So you’re saying that the Congressman has no qualms about the fact that Biden had these documents in 3 locations over many years - he’s just suspicious about the timing of the discovery announcement?

So Mister “Guam-might capsize” thinks it’s possible that the docs were planed in Joe’s properties. Does he think it’s possible that docs were planted at Mar-A-Lago?
