The FIB should not exist, only created in 1908, after Congress said 'NO!", while Congress was in recess, by presidential (Teddy R) fiat.

For starters, the FBI hardly belongs in the same set with concepts like “constitutional” or “ rule of law.” That’s because the FBI was never established by a law. US Lawmakers refused to approve an FBI bureau over a century ago when it was first proposed by Teddy Roosevelt. So he ignored Congress, and went ahead and set it up by presidential fiat. That’s one thing the civil liberties crowd hates discussing — how centralized US political power is in the executive branch, a feature in the constitutional system put there by the holy Founders.

“The circumstances of a military death can be sensitive enough not to be disclosed. It is that simple.”

I had a friend who was a commercial pilot (used to service his King Air ) whose father disappeared during a surveillance flight off the coast of Russia in the 60’s. The info was classified and he tried for years to get it. He finally passed away without ever knowing what happened.

If the Republicans take congress they hold the money strings that would allow them to put a crimp on FIB’s spending.

Answers ensue

Wut? They are a part of the problem. Strings will not tighten, answers will not ensue.

Any thinking man can realize that we do necessary clandestine activity and to prevent an enemy from knowing our capabilities the circumstances of a death can remain classified.

I disagree with you.

Our military shouldn’t be sent into situations that “sensitive ‘

Have you ever heard of Nathan Hale?

When British Major John André was caught as the "handler" and contact of our traitorous Major General Benedict Arnold, he was hanged just as Nathan Hale had been.

Don't be so naive.   If you wish to never send our Soldiers, Sailors, or Airmen into situations that are sensitive, against an enemy that has no qualms about it, you may as well walk straight into battle in ranks and columns.

You cannot imagine the so called "sensitive" information they sometimes may protect.

“to prevent an enemy from knowing our capabilities the circumstances of a death can remain classified.”

In theory that is possible, but think of the potential for abuse in that situation.

Well, time will tell, but which Republican leader have you heard protest the treatment of Jan6 people? Or demand consideration of mitigating factors in that Jan6 event? Or call for criminal judgment in the cases of falsified FISA warrants? Or call for restraint of the FBI in the execution of its bogus warrants? Or, for that matter, call them the bogus warrants that they are? Or, etc, etc, ad nauseum?

I’ll try to be optimistic with you, but it would seem to be in spite of the evidence.

have you heard protest the treatment of Jan6 people?

Yes many demanded reports from FBI and the Jan6 tribe but not getting answers the dems have control that’s why replacing them is critical

Imagine we had our military deployed in disputed territory between two nations for surveillance purposes without military ID and in plain clothing. The dispute was resolved by negotiation, would we want it known, possibly enflaming the situation needlessly?

Yes.

Be prepared for claims by some on FR that it was all planted, etc. The affidavit notes texts on his iPhone 8 that go into horrific detail what Meek wanted to do to a child.

Update:

...James Gordon Meek, 53, who served as a national security journalist at ABC, is scheduled to appear in a Virginia federal court on Friday following his January 2023 indictment on child rape charges. He faces up to 20 years behind bars.

The disturbing crimes were exposed after the FBI conducted a raid on the journalist’s Arlington home in April 2022. FBI officials were alerted by Dropbox in March 2021 of ‘sickening child rape’ materials of minors stored on Meek’s account....”

He messaged someone asking them if they had ever raped a toddler girl and said it was marvelous or something as disgusting.
