I’m a Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Watched a game in Pittsburgh last week where there could not have been more than a thousand people in the stands. Whole sections of PNC Park were empty. If they got PC’d into changing the team name, wouldn’t make much of a dent.
Never heard of this team...and I’ve followed baseball for almost 70 years. “Guardians”??? Bob Feller is rolling over in his grave.

Man I hate these biased stories. This game was a rescheduled game that wa played at 1pm on a Monday afternoon, of course it had low attendance. It a 1pm on a weekday and it was a reschedule game from April.
I don’t agree with the stupid name change, but this particular citation isn’t any kind of proof of the authors clear intent to prove something, regardless of the facts.
