I don’t think Reagan was. But they ensured CIA Bush was right there at his side. And a friend of Bush tried to murder Reagan two months in.
I don’t think so. Most on Free Republic are old farts whose hearts are in the right place; but, they are in no shape to do battle with 20 year-olds. Younger people don’t seem to understand what they are losing and are outright apathetic.

I can’t recall anything Reagan did that was likely opposed by the Deep State. My recollection is that the MIC and the national security establishment were pretty happy with Reagan.
Besides Bush, there’s Cap Weinberger, George Schultz and a number of other members of the cabinet.
