Exactly. He was there. They’re putting everyone else in prison. There’s no reason to be defending him if he’s a Trump guy. That he is getting such support from the D’s is basically an open declaration he’s one of theirs.

Exactly, the author doesn’t say “falsely,” he says “baselessly” because he’s sure the facts have been adequately covered up. Liars are good at parsing words.

You KNOW if Ray Epps were a real Trump supporter that he would have been arrested, locked up and never heard from again. The fact that the NEW YORK TIMES is defending him shows plainly that he was specifically picked to incite a riot.
Ray Epps is probably far more afraid (and should be) of the feds bumping him off before the Republicans regain the House.
