Thank you.
You’re wrong, pence could have and should have rejected them for fraudulent results they were. There was in your face fraud and pence should have fought it to the bitter end. He didn’t even say a word, other then to cover his ass and help cover-up the fraud. The vp serves as more then a figure head, he is the president of the senate. Stop covering for pence, he is ether a coward or a traitor. I’m inclined to believe the later.
All Pence had to is call for a delay certifying until the irregularities could be sorted out.
He had absolutely no power or authority to do so. The Electoral votes had been cast and he had to preside over them being counted. Congress can reject them to prevent them from being counted. States can refuse to send Electoral votes. None of those things happened. That is simple reality.
“In your face fraud”, really?
Is that what you learned in law school.
Objection your honor!
Grounds?
Fraud!
That doesn’t suffice.
Your honor, in your face fraud!
Sustained!
False as false can be. The Vice President has absolutely zero - zero - power, role, or authority to do what you suggest. That is reality. No power in the Constitution to do so, no power in the law, no power in the Congressional rules he is fully bound by as President of the Senate. Period.
3 U.S.C. section 15 :
Upon such reading of any such certificate or paper, the President of the Senate shall call for objections, if any.
“...pence could have and should have rejected...”
-
VP Pence had no such authority.
The VP’s role in this situation is ceremonial,
as are most all of the VP’s roles.
Prove me wrong.
Show me chapter and verse.
See post #40 above if you need further proof.
“...the President of the Senate shall call for objections...”
-
Did he call for objections?
Were there any?
And? Where is that giving him any of the authority being claimed?
What is your point of posting that?
I think to show that anyone, including Pence could have objected. It was said he didn’t have the power to object.
p
“Did he call for objections?
Were there any?”
Yes and yes. Objections against certifying the AZ and PA electoral vote counts.
I remember it as well, and he was very clear. No one heard it because it was not shown in the media either. Part of the plan IMO.
“...Objections against certifying the AZ and PA electoral vote...”
-
Who objected?
How were the objections resolved?
I really want to know.
Do you have a link?
2 state legislations sent him letters asking for time to review their elections as they felt they had wrongly been certified. Pence does have the authority to send those back to the states to resolve their issues before he counts the votes as has been said.
3 U.S.C. section 15 :
Upon such reading of any such certificate or paper, the President of the Senate shall call for objections, if any.
The role of the President is still just ministerial. He calls for objections as a matter of course on each paper or certificate. This was done. As I recall, one or two objections were made, but in no case did the objector obtain the required second signature, so the objection was not received and there was no adjournment. The President of the Senate cannot make an objection, nor does he have any vote upon an objection.
3 U.S.C. §15:
Upon such reading of any such certificate or paper, the President of the Senate shall call for objections, if any. Every objection shall be made in writing, and shall state clearly and concisely, and without argument, the ground thereof, and shall be signed by at least one Senator and one Member of the House of Representatives before the same shall be received. When all objections so made to any vote or paper from a State shall have been received and read, the Senate shall thereupon withdraw, and such objections shall be submitted to the Senate for its decision; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall, in like manner, submit such objections to the House of Representatives for its decision;
Pence shouldn't have waited until January 6 to do anything.
He should have been asserting his role in November, reminding the state legislatures of their own powers according to Title 3, and what he would have to do on January 6 if they don't assert their own plenary powers before then.
Pence stayed quiet, and just showed up to open envelopes.

“...Pence stayed quiet, and just showed up to open envelopes. ..”

Which is exactly what he is supposed to do in his ceremonial task.
Elections are run by the States, not by the Federal Government.
It is up to the States and their respective electoral colleges
to “certify” that their vote counts are accurate.
The “counting” in the U.S. Senate is purely a ceremonial affair.
If you have a problem with that, blame the State, not the Vice President.
