Musk attaching himself to Gab and all the crazies over there will certainly attract more attacks from Big Tech than a twitter buy out.
Musk should take it then any other platform that wants to join his stable, then another and another, it’s a way to buck the current system and would drive the left nuts.
The value of a social media site is its user base, not the software.
I wish he owned Facebook.
you’d have to have a ever changing domain and ip address..
it would make it very hard to ever get connected for long
But I want to buy Twitter and it’s my money.
How exactly does Twitter make money? I see it has a lot of users, but where does Twitter get paid?
+1.
Just my personal opinion, but I spend very little time on Gab. All I find is politics, religion and people trying to sell me something or other. Very little or zero humor or things of interest outside of the three named.
Same goes for MeWe and Retalk.
I get enough religion, political discussion plus lots of humor here on Free Republic.
Minimal ads. Low expenses. Huge market share.
“How exactly does Twitter make money?”
Primarily advertising then selling of the user data.
“He lists problems with Twitter. Those problems are the reason Musk is into Twitter!”
You’re always such a simpleton who never gets it.
Elon should pay FRee Republic a license fee for the software platform. We would never have a FReepathon again, and Jim could run it exactly as he sees fit. It would be like the McDonald’s brothers running their original 2 restaurants the way they liked while Ray Kroc franchised the whole thing, made billions off the platform, and sent in the brothers their checks while they never had to worry about money ever again.
Always have a backup plan.
This is a badly presented proposal:
1. “equity in the company” is vague
2. “investing $2B” is specific
“Look, I’m a member of Gab but they’re the RC cola of social messaging to Twitter’s Mexico Coke.”
Then Truth and GettR are like the Tab and Fresca?
The question of Twitter’s value post Musk is interesting. It’s entirely possible Twitter ends up going flat.
You sound like a twitter employee. It sounds like you would like to censor out everyone you don’t like.
FR censures just like twitter.
Let it. It’s JimRob’s platform. Using my analogy, it would be like the McDonald brothers refusing to sell their franchise rights but having zero plans to expand.
