I use Amazon Music for stuff I’ve purchased. Their track randomization algorithm is bizarre to me.
I was a loyal Pandora user for years, but I dropped them for a while and didn’t miss them.
Some of my favorite podcasters were moving over to Spotify, so I signed up. If Spotify pulls Rogan, I will cancel my subscription tout de suite. I don’t listen to Rogan, but it’s a war of principle at this point.
Never did like Foo Fighters. I appreciate Grohl’s artistry, but his politics can eat my rump.
Yes, and losers to boot!!!
Good luck Spotify. With all these artists being behind big suk liberals, they’ll be no groups to put on Spotify
I say, tell em go to Hell!!!
The easy way to counter cancel culture is to have people pull their support from leftist run orgs - that means Apple, Google, etc;
Um, wrong. Grohl is a widely respected musician, songwriter, producer.
Yes. I wasn’t claiming a First Amendment violation. I just miss the American ethos I grew up in: ‘I don’t agree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it..’ That is the position I want to take on this.
Rogan has more listeners than CNN has viewers. He probably could start his own streaming business at this point.
What a distraction. Lots of truth coming out in every sphere from political to economic so the needle gets stuck deliberately on songsters whose music is like listening to ancient dinosaurs.
No o e gives a Brandon about Spotify.
Respectable, but a low bar to get over LOL.
Funny, if you read the replies to Barry Manilow's tweet the denying the rumors that he's pulling his music from Spotify, he's immediately blasted for NOT removing his music and supporting "disinformation" about Covid.
Neil Young opened the floodgates. Now every artist who remains on Spotify is going to have to face the small but very vocal angry mob on Twitter.
That’s your opinion that he’s more talented.
You can delete the /S tag.
Its exactly what they’re for.
They are not against the machine, they’re all in for it.
Grohl would never have done this early in their career, when he WASN’T a multi-millionaire.
It’s only AFTER they’re rich and have FU money, that their true colors come out.
As we’ve seen over and over and over...
You won’t see any up-and-coming ‘artists’ leave Spoitfiy. They haven’t gotten rich yet.
They were never true "rebels", as they faced no real risks for "rebellion". Their fans made them rich, because they produced what was wanted by their customers.
These days if you want to be a real rebel, make songs about a (real) man and woman who want to marry and make some kids.
30-60: Didn't know the Foo Fighters were still around.
>60: What is Spotify?
Hey Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Poo Flingers -- nobody GAS. STFU and go away.
Big deal. Threats from a bunch of middle-aged hipster douchebags that nobody listens to anymore or cares about.
See ya!
Rumor has it that Yoko Ono is threatening to put her songs on Spotify, if they don’t remove Joe Rogan.
/Sarcasm
Why do people need Spotify to listen to music? There are numerous other platforms.
In the same way, you don’t need Spotify to listen to Joe Rogan.
It’s looking to be more rumor than true. What I see happening going forward is the blue-check mob on Twitter will pressure all they can to quit Spotify... they are invested now and will almost certainly turn up the heat over the coming days. Will Spotify give in to the pressure? The left is always more organized than conservatives when it comes to mass media projects. Where is the GOP leadership when these fights take place? Deafeningly silent from what I can tell.
