Buffalo Springfield. After that, I pretty much haven’t followed Young’s career.
Young’s “career” is like the proverbial small town - you could throw a rock from one end to the other.
Yeah, but give them a break. A lot of them don't remember having done it.
I’m so often curious at how far or what a faded celebrity will do to get back into the limelight.
Note to Neil - no one under age 60 knows who you are and those of us who are over age 60 can no longer hear the high pitch tones/whine in which you “sing”
Seems those who protest the loudest are trying to coverup their past connections to Trump.
<<>> Neil Young sells 50% of his song catalogue to U.K. investment company
January 6, 2021
Neil Young has become the latest musician to strike gold with his song catalogue, selling a 50 per cent stake in his music to a British investment company in a deal announced on Wednesday.
The Hipgnosis Songs Fund said it had acquired half of the copyright and income interests in some 1,180 songs written by the 75-year-old rock star, composer of Heart of Gold, Rockin’ in the Free World and Cinnamon Girl.
Terms were not disclosed.
He single-handedly destroyed the Buffalo Springfield. As I recall, they had finally hit the big time and were booked on Ed Sullivan. Neil Young took the booking as a personal affront and without telling others of his intentions, failed to show up. The gig was cancelled and the band dissolved shorty thereafter.
Thanks for that guess, which sounds likely, especially knowing Jr. I just didn’t get it for some reason, thanks again for the help.
He sold 50% last year but there aren’t many details on who controls the partnership. In any case he attempted to deprive his partner or partners of their rights to earn royalties from Spotify. That’s civil but he withdrew his demand and Spotify took no action. So no damages. Someone probably explained to him what happens when you sell 50% of something and then try to cut a revenue stream without the equal partners agreement
“Note to Neil”
Another note to Neil: you don’t need to wear your male witch costume to a business meeting.
He plays what I call “economical lead guitar.”
Crosby held no love for Young. At all.
In an interview several years ago the interviewer asked about the group getting back together. Crosby basically said he wouldn’t rule it out, “it would be fun.”
When he was asked if Young would be included he nearly exploded, “Flock Neil Young!.” Crosby calmed down and said “besides, I think he’s out trying to save a squirrel or a fish or something.”
Definitely hard feelings there.
Those famous/infamous one note solos?
Correct!
Buffalo Springfield, complete with Neil Young, on the Ed Sullivan Show:
....Or, at the very least, they happily posed for a picture with Trump at some A list party.
Somebody should do a parody, where they gather together all these pictures of Trump hating celebrities, posing for a pic with Trump. Only they should photoshop an image of Hitler, instead of Trump. And then they can put a quote from each of these celebrities, talking about what they think of Trump, but substitute Hitler’s name......”Yeah I hung out with Hitler at a couple of parties. Made some small talk with him. I didn’t think he was very bright”
