“Maybe the airlines should make passengers weigh in and pay by the pound.”
About a year before the B$ pandemic one of our younger male relatives (not overweight) was getting flak from a stew about the weight of his briefcase in the overhead storage. Most of that was his lap top, tablet and cellphone which he never uses on a plane.
He asked for the pilot and the pilot and supposedly the secret federal flight Sky Marshall started to confront our son.
Our son said that if the airline was concerned about extra weight in the plane, they should fire all overweight flight attendants, sky marshals and eliminate at least 50% of the overweight passengers.
Next, he pointed that this Airline 99% of the time wanted him setting in an aisle seat and in business class if seats were open.
Finally, he gave business cards from his corporate lawyer to the pilot and sky marshal and told them. “You can talk to my lawyer, I’m through talking.”
They left him alone and went into first class. A couple of minutes later, they told him, he had a free upgrade to a First Class aisle seat and a different flight attendant
After the plane landed back here, the pilot apologized to our son and said, “You understand about unions, don’t you!?”
Now, this son often get free up grades to first class if there is room on that airline.
The two statements are the same. One just spells it out clearly, the other hides the truth in high sounding inexact verbiage.
Instead of COVID testing, maybe it’s time to start requiring psychiatric examinations, especially for those who are in positions of authority.
They’re pissing everyone off. I want to see so much backlash.
How many can gather if everyone is obese?
Has got to be a joke.
Need a parody song version,
Don’t want no Fat People
Don’t want no Fat People
Don’t want no Fat People
‘round here.
PLEASE tell us you forgot to put /sarcasm tags on your post.
C’mon man, hippos are only funny when they are up to their chins in dark water.
Please, please, please, omgoodness, i just hurled in my mask. /s
I thought about it and then I thought, "Nah..."
Funny though, while the women's magazines are dead serious, the male versions are satire.
Nope.
Maybe that’s what she wanted to say, but it isn’t what she said; it’s right there in plain English.
Don’t get me wrong, this is Sonoma playing to their wealthy, hypochondriac denizens, and it is well deserving of mockery. But these clickbait blogs do not help when they make such obviously false claims.
You may see a difference but if you reduce it to logical statements by mandating a certain size gathering of people if one is “susceptible” & another number as a general rule you are mandating a reduced gathering size that discriminates against each & every class that someone in authority says is more susceptible. This is a totally bogus construct and an infringement on basic liberty. Not to mention that it is totally unsupported by science.
There was a Judge Dredd game back in the ‘80s, among the hazards were “Fatties with belly wheels”, lol.
Don’t mean to split hairs. The actual wording says one or two people in an at risk group drops the number down to 12:
Gatherings of individuals of any age that includes person(s) who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 shall be limited to no more than 12 people, except for family gatherings.
Yes. This is legit.

The reason obese people are so dangerous is that they could tip California to cause the next earthquake.
The state must be perfectly balanced at all times.
Science, yo!
I had to look to make sure this wasn’t the Bee!! What the hell is California Press never heard of it!!!
Dang it, I should have *read the whole thing*
You’re right. It’s paragraph 4.
4. Prohibition on Large Gatherings. I hereby order that during the duration of this Order:
a. Large gatherings, as defined below, are prohibited. To the extent a large gathering has been planned to occur during the period of this Order, it shall be postponed or canceled.
b. Gatherings of individuals of any age that includes person(s) who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 shall be limited to no more than 12 people, except for family gatherings.
I’m going to be in Marin on Sunday. Maybe it’s time to drive up to Sonoma and have a “large gathering” somewhere in the county.
What if people don’t self identify as obese?
