That is what it appears to be now, a concerted effort to make it where anyone being attacked by their criminal leftist mobs may NOT defend themselves. In other words, STAY HOME and let OUR thugs tear everything apart so we can get what we want.

If that be the case, I would announce to deliberate at 5AM and give the verdict then. The lazy worthless BLM/ANTIFA punks are to lazy to get up that early in the morning.
Hung jury
I used this analogy with Ferguson and the Minneapolis cases and it is very true.
Both sides of the political spectrum often react with a Pavlovian reflexive response to any story. The left wants to protect their rioters to preserve a narrative and they dislike the concept of self-defense because it is not controlled by the state.
The right abhors the anarchy of the riots and wants law and order so they see nothing wrong with a 17 year old doing what the authorities refused to do (protect property and preserve order).
This is why we can no longer have a civil conversation. There is very little common ground to be found with those who disagree with us because we have different goals and bedrock principles.
The left cares only about the narrative. It is the warped logic that can label a candidate of color as a “white supremacist” or a riot full of arson, assaults, looting, and millions in damage as “mostly peaceful”.
If they believe in stupidity like that how can we find agreement?
The crowds outside are going to be in a full on brawl the longer it drags on, atleast that is the impression I get from Fox’ webpage.
The job of this jury is to decide the rules of engagement for Civil War II.
Everything is symbolic of something else. Nothing is just what it is. This trial is about the left’s passion to take guns from non-violent people and leave them in the hands of violent criminals.
They don’t want you to have the right to defend yourself from their favored people.

The bad news is that a hung jury means a mistrial without prejudices. The judge needs to preempt the jury, but he won’t do that.
