I had a great grandfather raised by Boone, with the last name Duncan. He was the son of a man who was tortured and murdered outside the fort while Daniel Boone and others watched on. The purpose was to force a surrender or negotiations. Good thing the people of those times were built of sterner stuff than Biteme Biden.
I look forward to the inevitable Disney movie in which Crockett is portrayed the way he was always meant to be: as a proud LGBTQ+ woman of color.

Back after the turn of the century, my family was close friends with the Crockett family. They had Santa Anna's fancy pansy jacket and the men would wear it as their wedding attire. At the Acton Cemetery, is the smallest TX state park which is his widow's grave. There is a statue of her and the thumb had been shot off a century ago so the entire hand has been repaired in recent years. Should have just left it alone as the repair is terrible. Cough, won't say who did it other than boys will be boys. Sadly, they're all long gone.
