With the filibuster this bill was DOA anyway but this puts final nails in that coffin.

I’m actually happy he is going against this.

At some point in the near future the liberals are going to go BERSERK against Chairman Xiden when they finally realize that almost NONE of their cherished bills are going to pass. Another one that already appears to be DOA is the HR1 bill to federalize elections.

It’s so hard to find a Democrat with a degree of sanity.

Joe needs to offer another job to someone else in Manchin’s family.

I'm happily surprised with Senator Manchin’s decision.

I didn't think he had it in him.

we shouldn’t give a damn what manchin thinks, but we boycotted away those two senate seats in GA. So now we’re at the mercy of the sanest democrat we can find.

nicely done. roy moore forever!

He sounds pretty firm, so that probably buries the issue for at least four years. I can't see the Democrats winning more Senate seats and holding their House majority next year.

ah, but all elections have been deemed irretrievably pre-stolen for eternity. it’s hopeless.

It really isn’t fair for DC citizens to have no voting representative in Congress. So return all of DC to Maryland. Leave behind a small federal district. Just do it, and be done with it.

Odd then that the Democrats are so palpably desperate for two U.S. Senators from D.C. when they've pre-stolen everything. Why do they need these if that were true? Why didn't they steal big key Senate races they were widely expected to win last November? The ones in Iowa, in North Carolina, in Maine, so Joe Manchin would be irrelevant today? Hell, Sara Gideon led in every single poll in Maine, no one would have batted an eye.

Do you hear yourself?

Who would have thought the fate of the Republic would rest on the shoulders of Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema?

but but but how can that be?

FR says (nay, SCREAMS. repeatedly. constantly. endlessly) that all elections are pre-stolen, and the real problem is republicans.

Manchin is going to be the Governor of West Virginia, and they just lost a Congressional Seat in the 2020 Census Reapportionment. The last thing in the world he would want would be two more Democrat Senators and at least one voting member of the House.

Rural America will be heard from in 2022, that means everyone who lives outside the Democrat urban enclaves who are self destructing.

Joe is holding out for more money or a better committee position.

He also knows if DC becomes a state his leverage goes down.

What a sad predicament we’re in that this WV yokel is pretty much all that stands in the way of the total collapse of the republic. But here we are. LOL.

Joe Manchin has already served two terms as governor of West Virginia. He is ineligible to serve in that office again due to term limits.
Even if he could, why would he want to trade the Big Trough of DC for the small trough of West Virginia?
