Delta airlines falls in a hand waving faint, but they require photo id to get on a plane.
white college students and prof’s are so ignorantly stupid
There is a much bigger picture here that folks are missing. Digital identity management will soon emerge as one of the great challenges of the next two decades — meaning how we manage our online (and offline) selves. In countries like India, the government is building the infrastructure. (Google Aadhar.) In the US, the work of DIM will be done by the private sector, including banks, Big Tech, large health systems, and a few other actors.
DIM will be grounded by privacy laws around the world, standards being built up around open banking and much more. Effective DIM will be central to innovation across nearly every industry.
Among the Big Tech bullies, Apple had positioned itself at the forefront, 1) as a champion of privacy, 2) as an emerging digital payments powerhouse, 3) as expert in know your customer (KYC), anti-money laundering, anti-fraud and so forth, and 4) overall as more trustworthy and credible than Google, AWS, Facebook, JP Morgan and so forth.
In opposing the very idea of voter identification, though, Corporate America in general has taken a giant step backwards in the past several days. The problem isn’t simply that Delta is hypocritical in condemning the GA legislature even as they insist upon official photo IDs themselves. It is that the very core of commerce going forward is at the beginning of a revolution in digital identity — and the positions being taken by these CEOs are jaw droppingly partisan and stupid.
Tim Cook made has first colossal mistake when he joined Apple with other Big Tech to ban Parler. But this week he devastated any prospect that Apple will be at the forefront of DIM. No one right of center will entrust this knucklehead with their digital identity.
If DJT plays things right, his platform has massive global potential as one firm after another destroys their own credibility. This is a big reason why I do not believe that he will be elected president in 2024. There are others who can assume that role — DeSantis, Pompeo, etc. From the day that Trump introduces his platform through late 2023, it will stun everyone with its success, growth, profitability and capacity to counter the left’s ever increasing control over our lives. DJT will choose to keep this momentum going rather than run for office.
The specific arguments are loyalty tests, not something intended to convince anyone.
Dems are acting like Jim Crow policies on steroids, as a doddering old man with failing cognitive skills once said.
Well, Democrats are different.
Everyone needs to learn more about ESG scores.
Rd later.
