There has to be more to it than that. Possibly that Democrats have had relatives die in nursing homes and so now it’s personal. Or that they are finally fed up with his lying and bullying and imperious behavior toward them.

I believe they really are going after him and the reason why is his behavior is turning NY Dems against the Dem party. NY is one of the Crown Jewels in the Dem vote strategy. We all know the Dems detest the electoral college and if they were ever successful in doing away with it, NY and Cali would be the cornerstones in their voting strategy. If Cuomo continues to turn those voters against the party, that will greatly diminish their efforts. It's easy to turn a blind eye to the detestable policies of your party until those policies kill your Mom, Dad or grandparents.
