A Glock 23 is my bedside gun. I trust that gun with my life.
Decades ago, an Army friend offered to sell me the SKS he brought back from Vietnam. I declined because of no interest at the time, but now mildly regret, especially as the price was exceedingly low, though I don’t remember it.
Perhaps I’ll find a gun show to see if either is available.
Only if you are caught.
Got mine for all of $75. Rock & roll, baby! Chinese made and marked. Fun on a bun!
Meant to say, probably not cheap these days, but what is? Nothingburgers...

Sorry,
I just need some

In other words, about aversge for 'Am Shooting Journal'.
What UTTELY FOOLISH ADVICE.= You win the DUMB-BUNNY AWARD for March 21.
In such a situation, a WISE householder will take a COVERED & CONCEALED position (IF POSSIBLE) & “await future events”.
IF & WHEN the door comes open, see who is coming (OR breaking) in & then decide what you should do.
FYI, I have trained my lady & our nanny to do exactly that. = We have a heavy 5’ solid wood table about 15 feet from the front door. The ladies have been trained to turn it on its side, get behind it with their firearm & be prepared to shoot IF the person is an armed housebreaker.
(At worst, they are in a covered position that makes hitting them from the doorway difficult & likely a housebreaker will NOT have a firearm that will shoot through that heavy oak tabletop.)

I can, if necessary, repair/replace the heavy table. = People are not replaceable.

You may not like it, but I’ve seen in many times - works real good.
YES, it’s been done & generally the “shooter” ended up in prison for shooting a person UNLAWFULLY.
