In addition, any 'extra' judgment outside impeachment relying on the 14th Amendment is definitely a bill of attainder. Trump would have to be convicted in a court of law, not Congress, for insurrection.

Our adversary is tough, determined and believes that the end justifies the means. To them, anything goes if it leads to achieving their goals. That’s what we’re up against.
Conservatives are going to have to toughen up a lot to have any chance of ever turning things around in this country.
We still play by the rules, and are afraid to retaliate against our political tormentors. Consequently the Dems have no respect for, or fear of, conservatives. Nothing’s going to change until the Sleeping Giant wakes up.
Most contests in life are won by those with the strongest will to win. We have to be tougher than they are and we have to start fighting on a level of intensity that may challenge some of our sensitivities. We need to get over that. We also need to start holding our elected representatives accountable for results instead of accepting their empty rhetoric. Fight for us or you’re gone.
The battle is existential now. We are faced with a binary challenge and there is no middle ground. We either win or we lose.
What happened to Trump should be the mother-of-all wake up calls. The Left is coming for us and there’s no time to waste. We must be prepared to fight in ways we never have before.

You are exactly right. A court of law would have to first convict him of insurrection, THEN the 14th Amendment would apply.
