Yep I agree. Scott plays Scrooge impeccably! My favorite by far.

Scotts adaptation is hands down the best. To be honest, there are very few movies he sucks in. Top notch and very humble actor and man who loved the craft and rejected the fame. Even his headstone is blank.
I don’t know what it is about it, but I just cannot get past Alistair Sim’s teeth. I don’t know what it is about his grin, but that version is way down on the list.
George C Scott also portrayed a powerful “Beast” in 1976 version of “Beauty and the Beast”. “Beauty” was played by Trish VandeVeer, his real life wife. Such a great version, I would love to find it and see it again after all these years.
Scott just doesn’t do it for me. Alister Sim was the best.
