The Dems are locked into a Trump vs Not Trump election because their childish Resistance hasn't left them anything positive to vote for. As for Hillary...most people laugh it off, as I did not too long ago. The party doesn’t like losers, she had her chance, got beat by a noob in 2008 and then got beat by an absolute noob in ‘16 despite more money than God...yeah, okay.

Everybody knows Biden’s going to be running with the person who will, should he win, have to take the reins, and be prepared to do so. Everybody knows who that is. Not Harris or Warren or Rice or Bass.
Moreover, she did get a lot of votes in 2016.
And if she has to make the awful sacrifice of her golden years with her grandkids, in order to serve her country after poor old Joe falls off the stage and breaks his noggin...Hillary gets the sympathy of the world. Joe gets a big ‘rat funeral.
Meanwhile she has been spared much of the campaign, which is the part she’s worst at.
She will also be the one debating the gentleman, Mike Pence, who doesn’t fight dirty while she does.
Sure, there are drawbacks to picking Clinton, but on balance -— she’s probably their best candidate.
Announcing it will also suck the air out of all other news for a good long time, and that pleases the ‘rats and the media.
Finally, everyone in her sphere of influence will be immune from prosecution (if you believe they aren’t already).
The delay is because some are not convinced. For example, Joe Biden.
Clinton money should win in the end, even with Biden.
