This is a continuation of this:
November 6, 2015. Chinese media are celebrating what has passed “almost unnoticed” in Russia: Moscows handing over of some 4.7 square kilometers of what had been Russian land to China, with Beijing viewing this as the first step toward the return of larger portions of the Russian Far East to Chinese control, according to Newsru agency.
The outlet cited a story in yesterday’s “China Daily” which reported the return of the land, noting that it is but a small part of the 1,500,000 square kilometers “the declining Qing Dynasty gave up” to the Russians between 1858 and 1915” in a series of “’unequal treaties’”

June 16 2015 Transbaikal officials are working on a deal with China that would allow Chinese firms to rent more than 300,000 acres of land in that Russian region, but a Beijing official says that the deal wont go through unless Moscow agrees to a massive influx of Chinese workers because there are no Russians available for work there.
According to Nezavisimaya gazeta, the Transbaikal kray government is ready to sign a letter of intent that would allow a Chinese company to rent the land for 49 years, but in Beijing, they consider that such a transfer of land is insufficient and that Moscow must allow for the entrance of Chinese citizens to work it

December 14, 2018 Vladimir Putins decision yesterday to move the capital of the Far Eastern Federal District from Khabarovsk to Vladivostok has been dismissed by most commentators as either a vote of confidence in his candidate for governor in the latter where the Kremlin suffered a loss in September, or as something that wont change the Far East at all.

and now 11 July 2020
Thousands of people have taken part in protests in Russia’s far east over the arrest of a regional leader.n They marched to the regional government in Khabarovsk shouting slogans against President Vladimir Putin.
Khabarovsk governor Sergei Furgal was detained on Thursday, accused of having ordered the killing of several business people 15 years ago. Mr Furgal defeated the candidate of Mr Putin’s United Russia party in elections two years ago.
His party, the ultra-nationalist Liberal Democrat Party of Russia, is usually seen as loyal to the Kremlin. But correspondents say Mr Furgal’s victory was seen as a blow to United Russia’s grip on power in the regions, and he is a popular figure in the far east.

If this continues Moscow will have no control in the Far East, i.e. China will take over.
Kindly FO Adam and take your faggy neo-liberal “stories” with you.

Russia Caught Between Economic Decline and Potentially Explosive Demographic Change http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3569558/posts
Income of Russians falls most in 20 years in second quarter, GDP down 9.6%
Russians real disposable income plunged the most in 20 years in the second quarter, while the economy shrank by 9.6% year-on-year as the country has been hit by low oil prices and the coronavirus pandemic. Real disposable income has become one of the most socially-sensitive issues in Russia led by President Vladimir Putin, with the economy expected to contract by as much as 6% this year.
The income fell 8% in year-on-year terms in April-June, the state statistics service Rosstat said on Friday, adding that Russias industrial output fell 9.4% in June compared with a year ago. It was the deepest quarterly decline of the income since 1999, according to the data on Rosstats website.

The price of crude knocked 'em off, and the other export biz, weapons, probably fell off a bit as well, although I don't think that's a large fraction of their oil biz. Thanks AdmSmith.
Gold sales to foreign buyers came in at $3.6 billion in April and May alone, business daily RBC reported, citing figures from Russias federal customs service ahead of an estimated $3.5 billion in gas sales for the full quarter.
This was the first time since at least 1994 that gold exports have topped gas sales, Maxim Khudalov of the Analytical Credit Rating Agency (ACRA) told RBC.
There's a huge supply of natural gas now, so even though the consumption has risen, it's probably not surprising that gas export revenue has declined. The AGW hoax was stoked by Putin et al, and while it still clings to fake life, it'll fail in the long run.
Why Russia's central bank really stopped buying gold - Jeff Christian
The Russian government is strapped for cash. It's facing the pandemic that everybody else is facing, but it was slow to move on it so it's got serious problems there. It still has sanctions, it doesn't have a lot of foreign exchange coming in, it's losing money on every barrel of oil that it sold in Russia,” Christian told Kitco News. It doesn't have the money to buy gold.
It is fun to read the comments posted by the Putin apologists, now when we know that Russia really is short of cash. LOL!
Thanks! Those types are less active now, maybe the money spigot has stopped for them as well.
