It's not the flu bro. And even if the stats wind up being as low as what you quote above, it's still five times deadlier than the highest death rate for the seasonal flu, according to the CDC, which is 0.1% at the highest.

We were never in the tunnel bro. This virus was meant to create panic not kill millions of people. It does not have the infection or mortality rate necessary for an epidemic. We shut down the entire United States a country of 334 million people over 70,000 people dying. Thats equivalent to a bad flu season. When the true stats come in look for a mortality rate of about .065%.
I'm not too sure what the flu mortality rate is actually based on, but corona after today will equal the worst US flu season in 2017-18 at over 60k deaths.

Seasonal flu deaths in 2018 were more like 80,000 and thats with a vaccine. This year we had about 55 Million cases of seasonal flu. So no this flu isn’t going down in history as anything more than the biggest medical debacle ever. Most people who got covid 19 didn’t even go to the doctor.
You need to wash your hands and turn off CNN. The epidemic will be over 10 minutes later.

I’m scared of the process of dying but not death. This virus - for a small minority - could be a bad way to die. But I’m not scared because it is a small minority of infected people who suffer through death. Chances are, you and I won’t be one of those even if we get the virus.
