There's a back story here. Fauci and Montagnier have a history. The US and France were both studying the HIV virus. The French (Montagnier & Barre-Sinoussi) isolated the virus first and a year later the US (Gallo) showed the causal link between the virus and AIDS. Gallo denied using any of the French virus and he was supported in this claim by Fauci.

Gallo got cut out of the Nobel. Bad feelings all around. Now they claim they all get along.

However, I’d want to see what sequence the French Doctor is talking about before I’d fully accept the BLAST argument.
